Cosy flat in Rome Centre Trastevere in Rome

Great place to stay in Rome!

Last August I rented this flat for two of my cousins who were visiting Rome. We found it comfortable, charming and extremely central. Trastevere is a wonderful area of Rome, full of shops, restaurants, pubs and a magnificent piazza. The apartment is within walking distance to everything, but, at the same time, situated on a quiet side street with very little traffic or noise. When we arrived, the landlord was waiting for us. She showed us around and we were not disappointed as the flat was exactly like its description. She was very charming and gave us all the information we asked for in a pleasantly unhurried manner. Before leaving she told us to call her at any time if there was a problem. We had none. The flat has an old world charm about it, with its antique furniture, but is equipped with fully functional modern utilities. The kitchen and bathroom were spotlessly clean and the shower had loads of gushing hot water. The beds were very comfortable, including the one in the pull-out sofa! We are planning another holiday towards the end of November and will deffinately return to this lovely flat, run by a wonderfully charming woman in a great area of Rome. We highly recommend it to anyone staying in the Eternal city.

Recommended for: age 55+, girls getaway, sight seeing, tourists without a car, romantic getaway

A lovely flat and location for a lovely holiday!

We have rented many short-stay apartments and houses in Italy and other countries and once, several years ago, in Rome, but this flat was, by far, the best we have ever stayed in. It exceeded all our expectations and it made this year’s holiday the best we have ever had.
The flat, whose pictures do not do it justice, was extremely comfortable, airy and full of light. It was tastefully furnished, very clean and all in all just charming. The building is well kept and very secure. Not only was the bed comfortable, but the sofa bed as well, not something easy to find. The kitchen was well equipped, the dishwasher and washing machine efficient yet silent and the bathroom, although small, very functional with a lovely shower that gushed out plenty of hot water. The computer was great and the free internet service even better.
The owners were wonderful! They made us feel at home right from the start. They were thoughtful and extremely helpful. We called them a number of times asking for different kinds of information and they were always patient and ready to help us resolve all the small problems a foreigner can encounter in getting around Rome. They told us where to find the more economical restaurants and pubs in the area, helped us with our departure arrangements and answered all our enquiries about the city.
The neighbourhood we stayed in, Trastevere, was great. The area is full of restaurants, pubs, wonderful ice cream bars, great vegetable markets, small supermarkets and a thriving night scene. The best thing about this flat however, was that all the above was within walking distance but the flat itself was quiet and peaceful. We were able to take advantage of the amenities the area offered, enjoy our days in the sun and then go home and have a nice, long and restful sleep.
We had a wonderful time in Rome and thoroughly enjoyed staying in this lovely flat ensconced right in the heart of Rome. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic Roman experience to be enjoyed in a modern and comfortable setting. We will definitely be renting it again, hopefully, in the near future.

great location, very noisy!

We just returned from 8 days in this flat. Trastevere is a great location. However the location of this flat is very noisy. It is next door to a resturant and with the window open or closed you hear people and dishes everynight until 2 or 3 AM. We had to put on head phones in order to sleep!

The shower was about the size of a phone booth and was full of mold.

The queen size bed consisted of two twin mattresses pulled togeather. They were only about 3 inches thick and sat upon a board. It was very uncomfortable!

Other than that it was a great neighborhood... very conveient...walking distance to most sites and many resturants and shops near by.
