Single Family w/ 4 Bedrooms - 2½ Bathrooms - Sleeps 8
Featured on the Forbes magazine website as one of 5 special fall
vacation retreats for 2003, you can choose charming Jenny Brook Farm
for a memorable ski vacation, a cool summer getaway with a 2-acre
pond or an autumn trip to view nature's color. Located in the
peaceful Green Mountain National Forest at the meeting point of two
mountain streams, Jenny Brook Farm is a nature lover's delight.
The completely restored 1830's farmhouse has all the amenities, if
you're adventurous enough to choose a home that's "off the power
grid." We generate our own electricity, so that means there are a
few extras you'll need to know. The house has 4 bedrooms: a master
suite with bath and a queen bed, one queen guest bedroom and a guest
bedroom with two twins. A sleeping loft that opens to the den below
has a full size bed, a twin bed and a bath. The house handles 6 to 8
people.
With a fully equipped modern kitchen including a Jenn-Air cooktop,
plus an 8-burner cast iron wood stove, you can even cook the old-
fashined way. The home has a brick fireplace in the dining room in
front of an antique banquet table that can seat a crowd. The focal
point in the den is a huge river-stone fireplace, floor to ceiling
wondows and original hand-hewn beams in what was formerly an attached
barn.
Fully stocked kitchen, microwave, breadmaking machine, modern gas
cooktop and antique 8-burner cast iron stove/oven, 2 wood burning
fireplaces, river rafts, 5 bikes, outdoor games, Video/DVD with large
collection of movies, books, games, grills, beautiful antique
furnishings/accessories, massive dining room banquet table.
Skiing is what you do in winter. The farm is located close to 5
major resorts--Okemo Mountain, Stratton, Magic Mountain, Bromley and
Killington/Pico. If you prefer cross country skiing, you don't even
have to get into your car. Just 100 yards beyond the house the
plowed road ends and the state maintained cross-country trails
begin.
You're just 2 1/2 miles from one of Vermont's most picturesque
villages situated right on the West River. Weston, Vermont is the
home of the famous Vermont Country Store, where you'll find old
fashioned provisions and remedies that you just can't find
elsewhere. You'll love the Weston Playhouse productions--a theatre
with Broadway quality plays all summer long. Weston is home to
several small museums, charming little shops, a gourmet country inn
restaurant and a town green with a gazebo that just takes you back to
a simpler time.
