Cancun is Cancun and there is no other place like it. I think i
don’t have to describe a whole lot, just this, if you want to stay
away from the tourists and stay in a nice and quite residencial area
instead of the big hotels, Villa Maya de Cancun or Villa santa fe are the places to stay.

Villa Maya is the first house i bought in Mexico after i moved to
Cancun from Germany. The architect made sevaeral Upgrades to the
original design and gave it a Mayan Mexican touch.  You may rent the entire 4 Bedroom Home for up to 13 guests, or just 1 of the 2 independent Apartments ( 2 to 9 Guests)within Villa Maya.

The Location is
great as well, 2.5 miles from the hotel zone, 2 blocks from The Gran
Plaza Shopping Mall and Walmart, 1 block from Soriana Supermarket ,
400 ft from the bus stop to the hotel zone
and 300ft from a 24 hour mini supermarket.

Cancun Centro (downtown) offers an alternative to all the glitz and hype of the Hotel Zone with some great restaurants, bars, and shopping arcades. The atmosphere becomes more family-friendly as all the people who make this paradise work live here. They are the target market and the ambience not only becomes Latin, but prices go down significantly. Your wallet will appreciate very much your visit to downtown, as the money it contains will certainly go farther there during your Cancun vacation
