Vacation Rental Description

The Light House is a collection of indoor and outdoor spaces created  
with a complimentary merging of Indonesian, Japanese, Moroccan and  
East Indian cultures. Its warm, inviting rooms are interspersed with  
comforting courtyards, peaceful meditation gardens, hanging lounges,  
tranquil pools and restful waterfalls.       
 
The Light House offers a full sensory environment enhanced by  
inspirational natural and handmade architectural essentials: egg- 
shaped door knobs, pebble stone walls, hammered tin lights from  
Asia, custom furniture, mosaic tulip fountains, hand carved doors &  
banisters. Extensive custom trellises & "weathered" rustic  
fencing.       
 
The Light House offers the following elements of "Green  
Architecture": It is positioned on the site for windows to take  
advantage of winter sun heating and summer shade cooling. The  
entrance is protected from direct summer sun and the south windows  
and door glass have summer shade cooling. There is maximum  
insulation in the ceilings and exterior walls. The windows are  
energy efficient. There are ceiling fans throughout. 50% of the  
lumber is from certified sustainable sources. The stone and  
flagstone used throughout are materials from regionally extracted  
sources. The countertops are custom dyed concrete. There are cork  
floors. The interior paints are nontoxic. The ceramic tile and  
natural stone are installed with low toxic mastic and grout. The car  
port is detached. Water-based finishes are used on floors and  
woodwork. The casework is formaldehyde-free. The irrigation system  
has rainwater sensors so vegetation is not watered during rains. Non  
toxic cleaners/scents are used throughout the home. Most of the  
mattresses are made of organic latex.       
 
The Light House also incorporates the principles of Feng Shui to  
create an environment that is energetically aligned promoting  
harmony, serenity, creativity and vitality. An impressive cleansing  
crystal is strategically placed in the center of the house to ensure  
a healthy environment and numerous Feng Shui essentials are found  
throughout this residential landmark.   The Light House has  
everything needed for a great vacation, wedding, family reunion or  
corporate retreat. The one thing missing is the cable TV and  
internet access. After a couple of days of unwinding, many welcome  
the break from cable and internet and use the time at the Light  
House to unstress and rejuvenate. The natural outdoor beauty of  
Sedona is just out the back door which includes beautiful Oak Creek.

Vacation Rental Amenities

There are three buildings on the property. The main house has 6  
bedrooms, the art studio is a one room building that is ideal for  
meetings or receptions and the last building is a one room bedroom  
with two twin beds and a deck. 
 
The main house has 6 bedrooms. 4 downstairs and 2 upstairs. The  
master bedroom has a king bed, fireplace, TV with VCR/DVD, small  
office, large cedar walk-in closet and adjoining bathroom. The  
master bathroom features a large steam shower and pebble lined tub.  
Another bedroom adjoins the master bathroom and has two twin beds.  
The main living room has a rock fireplace and stereo system. The  
stereo system has speakers throughout the home, on the back patio  
and in the art studio. Individual volume controls are in each room.  
The home has a large plasma TV with DVD/VCR which is usually in the  
living room. Off the living room is another bedroom with two Bali  
style double beds and an adjoining bathroom with a shower. The  
kitchen is a gourmet kitchen that has all high end stainless steel  
large appliances. Also downstairs is a green room filled with plants  
and a rain shower to rinse off after a swim. Through the green room  
is the bamboo bedroom which has a king size bed and two full size  
twin day beds. This room is surrounded by bamboo and a few rose  
bushes. There is also a bathroom and laundry room nearby. The  
laundry room has a front load washer and dryer, microwave, supplies  
and sink. The handcrafted maple staircase leads to a large bedroom  
that has two queen beds with a large TV with VCR. This room has a  
panoramic view of the area. Down the hallway is another bedroom that  
has a queen bed and balcony. Between the two bedrooms is a bathroom  
with a shower.

Activities and Attractions

The grounds are fully landscaped and include an herb garden, jasmine  
court yard, lawn areas, fruit tree orchard, rose gardens and bamboo.  
There are two ponds; one with large goldfish and the other native  
frogs. There is a real mud kiva on your short walk down to beautiful  
oak creek. Also, there are 4 hanging outdoor beds; a wonderful way  
to siesta in Sedona's temperate climate. One full size hanging bed  
comes with its own fireplace and table. There are patios and outdoor  
seating including a large propane grill. The home is located on the  
south end of town and is at the end of a road to give lots of  
privacy. Some of the favorite nearby activities are horseback  
riding, mountain biking, visiting Red Rock State Park, swimming in  
the creek, hiking and exploring the natural beauty of the area.

Vacation Rental Rates

Please inquire about our fees. They vary depending on your length of  
stay, size of your group and the time of year.  Other extra fees are  
for pets, large parties and propane heating of the large pool during the cold  
months. The pool has free solar heating but is less effective during  
the winter months. We require 50% to be paid at time of booking and  
50% 30 days prior to your stay. There is also a fully refundable  
damage deposit of $1,000. If you cancel with at least 30 days  
notice. There will be a 10% booking fee.
