We have stayed at Toft’s Point West on 4 different occasions from September 2008 to August 2011.
We have absolutely loved our times at this beautiful lakeside cottage.

Windows looked out on the water and woods from every room. We went to bed at night listening to waves lapping on the rocky shoreline and wind blowing in the treetop and woke to the sun shining in our windows. At breakfast indoors (at the kitchen table set when we arrived with a tablecloth and a vase of fresh flowers) or outdoors (at a spacious wooden table on the deck) we could watch the multitude of birds flying by or visiting the feeders. We have seen a pileated woodpecker, hummingbirds, pelicans, blue jays, goldfinches, sea gulls, cardinals, robins, white-breasted and red-breasted nuthatches, great blue heron, chickadees, mourning doves, downy woodpeckers, rose- breasted grosbeaks, mallards, and more. Deer, chipmunks and squirrels visited the feeders, and we saw wild turkeys strolling down the road. Beautifully-tended, bright-colored flowers surrounded the cottage and spilled out from hanging baskets. We were even told that the ripe tomatoes hanging from the tomato plants were available for us to pick. There were lots of chairs and benches on the deck or going down to the beach inviting you to sit and read or just watch the sun sparkling on the water.

Everything in the cottage was very clean and very comfortable. The atmosphere was open and airy and filled with light. A washer and dryer allowed us to do laundry during our longer stays if we wanted. The bathroom was spacious and comfortable and the large shower was very nice. (No bathtub).

The kitchen was fully equipped and allowed us to cook meals large and small. We could eat inside with a lovely view out to the water, or outside on the deck or at a picnic table under the trees. We could sit out on the bench by the dock overlooking the water.

While we enjoy hiking in all of Door County’s state parks and sampling our favorite restaurants, we felt we had to hurry back in the evenings lest we miss the spectacular sunsets that set all the rooms of the cottage aglow as the sun sank into the water.

Mark and Trudy and their friendly pet cats and dog were wonderfully welcoming and eager to make our stay comfortable. If anything goes amiss, they are right next door.
Our only regret is that the cottage is not large enough to bring our children and grandchildren with us. We would love to share it with them.

Recommended for: age 55+, romantic getaway

Toft's Point West

What a treat! The quiet location on the water is just great for a relaxing, peaceful vacation. The views from the deck out onto the water are priceless. We have had many experiences over the years in Door County but Toft's Point is now our favorite. The wildlife, the view, and the gardens make this an experience that we look forward to each year. The location of this wonderful property is perfect - close to shopping and great restaurants, but far enough away to feel that you are in a private place. The roads around Toft's Point are perfect for long, scenic bicycle rides. The owner's Trudy and Mark's hospitality enhance the experience. For a relaxing, peaceful vacation, could not recommend Toft' Point more highly.

Beautiful Cottage right on the water!

Tofts Waterfront Cottage is beautiful and so peaceful. Could not have asked for a better place to stay! The views of the water from each room are exceptional. The grounds are so well maintained with flowers galore. We would have to say this cottage was even so more than we had expected. Bed and furniture were comfortable. Lots of wildlife and birds. Many evenings we spotted deer and racoons by the birdfeeder just outside our kitchen window. We spent many hours relaxing on the deck watching beautiful sunsets, wildlife and water views. Our hosts family of pets provided lots of laughs thanks Skyler, Colby and Cozmo. The owners Trudy and Mark could not have been any nicer making sure we had everything necessary to make our trip pleasant. They were right on hand to welcome us at the time of our arrival and see to our every need. The cottage is close enough to all the shopping but you are not stuck in a busy town. We have stayed in Door County on many occasions and have always enjoyed our stay but Tofts is by far the best! We hope to plan many more visits to this beautiful property. Give it a try you will not be disappointed.

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, sight seeing, romantic getaway
