Guests to the Mariner may also enjoy use of the Plantation Community
ammenities, including tennis courts, private secluded beaches, bike
paths, boat ramp / launch area, a separate community pool area, and
a private landing strip for small aircraft. Great private access to
fishing off of Bob Sikes Cut. There is also 24 hour security in
this gated community.

Activities (on site and nearby):

St. George Island is located three miles off the coast of Florida
and is accessible by car. Sand dunes, long white sandy beaches, and
seashells are common on this uncommon island. It is a located
approximately 65 miles SW of Tallahassee and 60 miles East of Panama
City. The Plantation is a beautiful, upscale community reminiscent
of the "old Florida" with no condominiums, traffic lights, or
crowds. A good portion of the island is a protected State Park.

There are many activities available including swimming, boating,
watersports, world-class fishing, wildlife viewing, bike rentals,
and great seafood restaurants! The Plantation is an official bird
sanctuary. There are bike paths located throughout the Island that
offer a safe place to bike, roller blade, or just go for a relaxing
walk. Tennis courts are available to Mariner guests, and golf is
within a short drive from the island. The East end of the Island is
where the award winning St. George Island State Park is located.
Here you can enjoy kayaking, hiking, or sunbathing in a pristine
undisturbed setting. The Island and nearby Apalachicola offers old
town charm, antique shopping and plenty of world famous Apalachicola
Oysters and seafood.
