Vacation Rental Description

These apartments always in the past have been rented long before
the season because they're the best value on the Web--in a heart-
stoppingly beautiful setting of water birds, wildlife, and sparkling
lake; 3 minutes to the ocean, Palm Beach, and other great places;
and the best value in South Florida. And now, they're reduced
below last year's rates. The lake photos show views from the
apartments. Thanks for looking!

These are a 1-bedroom apartment and a 2-bedroom apartment on 55-acre
Lake Osborne, in John Prince Park, in Lake Worth, Palm Beach County,
Florida. The setting is beautiful, right on a lake full of waterbirds
and minutes to the ocean and Lake Worth's wonderful downtown. All
windows provide views of the lake and banyans in this wonderful
natural area. It's quiet and yet close to everything. Everyone
loves it--nearly all of our renters have applied to rent again or to
buy their own condo in the neighborhood.

One person must be 55 or older.

Sorry, but pets and smoking aren't allowed because we have allergies
and some of our renters have allergies, and young children can visit
only for a few weeks at a time.

Both apartments are absolutely clean, of course, and fully furnished:
cordless telephone, answering machine, TV, VCR and videos, DVD player
and DVDs, brand new pillows each year, air conditioning. Both have
tiled floors--great for allergies and for keeping things fresh and clean.

Both are on the top floor of a 2-floor building--nobody's walking over
your head. Each has lake views from a screened Florida room with
screens and windows. A nearby bus stop takes you to the ocean beach &
downtown restaurants, shops, library, etc., connects with Palm Beach
International Airport, Amtrak, Tri-Rail, everywhere. No need for a
car, but each apartment has a parking space, and there are parking
spaces for guests' cars as well.

Vacation Rental Amenities

You're on the lake and the park, with views of the beautiful lake and
park. That is, the park, with the lake, is right across the quiet
road from you, in front of your windows. Lovely setting, only
minutes to Atlantic Ocean beach and all the pleasures and beauty of
Lake Worth.

Pool, wood-raftered clubhouse, group activities, friendly neighbors,
tropical birds and wildlife, walking trails, nature trails, water
sports.

Fully furnished: Brand new pillows each year, cordless or corded
telephone, answering machine, TV with local channels provided, cable
available, VCR with huge video collection, DVD player with DVDs.
Coin-operated washer & dryer ($.50/load) are downstairs. 2-bedroom
has a queen bed in master bedroom, double bed in 2nd bedroom, and a
sofabed--sleeps 6. 1-bedroom has king bed or twin beds per your choice,
plus queen sofabed--sleeps 5.

The apartments are very nicely furnished--air conditioning, new bed
pillows each year, cordless and corded telephones, answering
machines, well furnished and equipped (matching tableware and sets of
dishes, matching bath linens, matching designer and all-cotton bed
linens), excellent condition throughout. The 2-bedroom has ceiling
fans, central A/C, 2 TVs with remotes, DVD & VCR with a zillion great
movies, and is wired for cable. The 1-bedroom has fixed A/C and heat
plus a rolling portable A/C, Ralph Lauren and all-cotton linens, and
TV with remotes, DVD & VCR with a zillion great movies, and is wired
for cable. The local library offers free videos and DVDs, and the
video collection in the apartments is my best, favorite movies--my
guests have been overjoyed. Local telephone service, Internet
service, and cable are available.

Travel information and books are on site. The town library lends
videos as well as books and provides free Internet access.

Please note that the vast majority of the neighbors don't use A/C in
winter at all, but it's comfortable even in summer with just the open
windows and louvered doors letting the constant ocean breeze blow
through. We stayed there in July and needed A/C only when we were
working hard. SE Florida has cooling from the gulf stream in summer;
the rest of Florida doesn't.

Public transportation links you to ocean beach, Palm Beach
International Airport, downtown Lake Worth, Tri-Rail, Amtrak--no need
for a car. Lolly the Trolley stops right in front, and I walk
regularly to the TriRail train with my luggage. Parking for the
apartment and its guests is in front.

The town's municipal golf course is a glamorous classic 18-hole
property on the Intracoastal waterway. A 960-foot municipal pier,
being restored after the last hurricanes, for ocean fishing takes
you as close to the gulfstream as you can get without a boat, and
the town has a man-made reef as well.

Palm Beach and West Palm activities are minutes away, including
restaurants, famous Palm Beach Worth Avenue shopping, the Norton Art
Museum, the Kravis Center for Performing Arts, Roger Dean Stadium, and
countless other entertainments. And Lake Worth has really excellent
food, unlike most of Florida. We have a world-class Italian
restaurant, and excellent other restaurants--French, Japanese, Thai,
Hawaiian, upscale wine bars, fun sports bars, Toojay's Deli, and
waterfront dining so good that people come from miles away to Lake
Worth just to eat at John G's, and Benny's on the Beach has miles-long
views up and down the ocean.

Activities and Attractions

At the complex: Clubhouse, swimming pool and lounge area, barbeque
grill, organized group activities sponsored by the condo association
and clubs. At the park and lake across the road: walking, hiking,
running, biking, lake sports, tropical birds, liberated iguanas,
natural areas, tennis; group activities, walking trails, nature
trails, water sports.

In historic downtown Lake Worth with its famous old Florida charm:
Catch ocean fish from the 960-foot municipal pier; play golf
Gatsby-style on the beautiful waterfront municipal golf course on the
Intracoastal; then, have an affordable and excellent dinner at the
restored Historic Landmark Gulfstream Hotel or at Benny's on the Beach
on the pier, while looking miles up and down the coast from Benny's
beautiful upper deck.

Downtown offers casual and fine dining: French, Italian, Japanese,
Thai, deli, raw bar--most of these with outdoor cafe seating--and a
classic diner. Take in an
afternoon or evening play at our historic community theater. Visit
our Bamboo Room, with the nation's top blues acts brought in weekly;
our historic Art League's rotating displays with fine art for sale at
great prices; twice-monthly Evening on the Avenue with music, artists,
vendors, antique car show and more. Or bask on our beach and gaze
upon the vast blue Atlantic.

Nearby: Top-drawer New York plays and shows at Kravis Center and fine
arts at Norton Gallery. Worth Avenue and the glamorous sophistication
of Palm Beach are minutes away. And you're minutes away from the new
City Place in West Palm Beach, Roger Dean Stadium (baseball), deep sea
and bass fishing, a 20-theater Movieco, and much much more. Lolly the
Trolly will take you to the beach/fishing pier/shopping--and connect
with transport to anywhere and any activity you can think of. Ft.
Lauderdale is less than an hour away by car, train, or public bus.
And the whole area's famous for antique shopping. West Palm has a
blocks-long community of antique and consignment shops, and Palm Beach
has high-end treasures in excruciatingly expensive antique stores and
amazingly cheap consignment and haute-thrift stores, like the famous
Palm Beach Goodwill Boutique and the amazing Church Mouse consignment
and thrift store donated to AND patronized by the Palm Beachers.
