The Sanibel in Cayuga Lake

Welcome to The Sanibel! Come sit at the end of our private dock at
sunrise, bring your favorite cup of something warm and just be.
Listen to the quiet stirrings of morning, to the silent wings of the
heron as he fishes off the point and to the gentle lap of the water.
Spend the afternoon with a good book under the willow tree or take
the canoe out to explore. Wrap up in blankets after sunset and
wonder at more falling stars than ever imaginable. Come make
memories that our family has cherished for generations. We’re so glad
to have you!

The Sanibel welcomes families and friends attending commencement ceremonies at
Cornell University, Ithaca College and surrounding schools. We're an easy 40 minute drive
along Scenic Byway Route 90 to most points in Ithaca. Contact us for further information!


The Sanibel is a one-story, three-bedroom, one-bath cottage that
sleeps 4-6 guests, with the entry, hallway and bathroom door being
handicapped accessible. The first two bedrooms have a double bed in
each and the third bedroom provides two twin beds. The newly
remodeled kitchen has a full-sized refrigerator, stove/oven and
center island and is fully equipped with cookware and tableware. The
bright and airy kitchen is open to the dining and living areas, all
with beautiful views of the lake. The cozy warm colors and eclectic
mix of furnishings create a cheerful yet sophisticated atmosphere,
while the hand-pegged pine floors add that bit of rustic touch. A
generous front yard gently slopes to the grassy lawn and water’s
edge with just 17 steps to descend. The Sanibel sits on a shallow
cove on the east side of Cayuga Lake with a sandy bottom, perfect for
swimming and accessible for boats. The Sanibel is located on a
private neighborhood road with private parking for two cars.

Policies:

The Sanibel is a housekeeping rental. Please clean up after your
stay and leave things in the condition you found them in. The $250
Security Deposit will be refunded within 30 days of your departure if
the post inspection finds minimal cleaning needed and no damage.

You’ll need to bring your own bed linens, towels and paper products.

No smoking indoors, please.
No pets, sorry, no exceptions.
No open fires.
No large parties, please, as we are located in a family neighborhood.

take out our canoe or bring your own boat*. Enjoy
fishing, water skiing or touring, or hire a local captain to charter
a day on the water for you. Explore the world-renowned Finger Lakes
Wine Trail and experience the dedication and determination of this
delicious tradition. Take a short drive into town and enjoy one of
the last ice cream stands that serves soft ice cream that’s actually
CREAMY! Stop by the McKenzie-Childs pottery studio and gardens for
some exquisite artistic inspiration. Need a shopping fix? The
Finger Lakes area is loaded with quaint villages, boutique shopping
and antiquing all within a short drive. When your shopping needs
turn to the practical, grocery stores, gas stations, malls and even
the very popular Bass Pro Shop are close by. Please don’t hesitate
to ask for a complete list of local activities and attractions.

Weekly: $1,050.00 + $250.00 Security Deposit.

Rental weeks begin on Saturday after 3:00 pm and end Saturday before
10:00 am. The Sanibel is a housekeeping rental. Please clean up
after your stay and leave things in the condition you found them in.
The $250 Security Deposit will be refunded within 30 days of your
departure if the post inspection finds minimal cleaning needed and no
damage.

Rental Policies:

A $525.00 Rental Fee Deposit is required at time of reservation. The
$525.00 Rental Fee Balance and the $250.00 Security Deposit are due
30 days prior to arrival.

The Rental Fee Deposit is non-refundable under all circumstances.
In the event you must cancel your reservation, we will gladly return
your Security Deposit. Your Rental Fee Balance will be refunded if
cancellation is made 30 days or more prior to your reservation. No
refund of your Rental Fee Balance will be granted if cancellation is
made within the 30 days leading up to your reservation. However, in
the event we can rent your reserved week, we will gladly refund your
Rental Fee Balance. We currently only accept cash or money orders.
