Beach house on the Gulf near Chicxulub Puerto in Chicxulub

   Light and airy, completely furnished two-story beach house with
views of the Gulf from either porch or balcony.  **Coming soon! A screened-in casita with bamboo bar for open-air entertaining (photos ASAP).**  Since the owner is native to the area, and the manager (originally from the U.S.) has 20 years of experience in tourism on the Yucatan Peninsula, we can probably answer any questions you may have, but if we don't have the answers, we'll look into it and let you know.  Our sincere desire is that you and your travel companions enjoy your stay, experience the beauty of Yucatan, and find yourselves at home in the beach house.  The second-row location offers more privacy (no beachcombers strolling past your door) and calmer breezes. 
   From the living room and through the arched doorways to the large dining room,  open to the kitchen at the rear of the house, you'll find the multi-paned windows perfect for enjoying the cool Gulf breezes. In addition, there are ceiling fans in both rooms. The large downstairs bathroom is easily accessible when you come in from the pool or the beach, as well as from the kitchen.
Upstairs there are three large bedrooms, each with ceiling fan and queen-size bed.  (There's also a sleeper sofa.)  The front bedroom has a private entrance from the balcony; this bedroom and the eastern bedroom both have views of the Gulf while the southern bedroom overlooks the back garden and pool area. Each bedroom has direct access to the upstairs bathroom. 
The beach house is owner-occupied for much of the year; clean and well maintained.

Color TV with English-language channels; DVD; stereo.
Swimming pool and rinsing shower (bring your own beach towels).  Large, shaded pool-side table for your snacks or meals.  **Soon to have screened-in casita  for open-air entertaining.**

Sheets, blankets, bath towels, hand towels and kitchen towels provided.

Easy shopping in Progreso, 10 minutes away, or Chicxulub Puerto, 3 km. (less than 2 miles) away, has a small market and lots of little stores for the basics.

From the latest craze in water sports to ancient Mayan ruins, you can find plenty to keep you busy. Or you can hang around the beach house for bird watching, dolphin watching, beachcombing or learning the finer points of “hammocking”. If you want to tour around the colonial cities of Merida or Izamal, that’s easily done and provides some good shopping opportunities, or a tour of the impressively carved ruins at Uxmal and its nearby satellite sites, or a horse-drawn cart through the ‘monte’ to go swimming in some of the crystal clear waters of the local ‘cenotes’. Any or all of this…it just depends on what you want to do on your vacation.  Feel free to ask us for any suggestions.
