Vacation Rental Description

Puesta Del Sol Bayhouse. 
 
This waterfront house is located on the bayside, just down the  
street from Blackbeard's Restaurant. The property has a lighted  
fishing pier. One of South Padre's best kept secrets is  
that this is one of the best night fishing spots on the entire  
island! (Guests have attested to this...) This is a great location  
for a fishing getaway or family vacation! The spacious concrete  
patio has fantastic views of the bay, and is ideal for a sunset  
barbeque! 
 
Upstairs/downstairs units are adjoined by an interior staircase and  
can be rented separately or as one unit!See description of upstairs  
and downstairs units below. 
 
The fishing!: From the dock, you can catch trout, redfish, and  
snook.  At night, you can fish with live shrimp under the lights.   
This is most effective when you can actually see the trout swimming  
in and out of the lights.  Redfish are usually caught at the dark  
edges of the light or directly under the pier.  Snook are usually  
caught under the pier or around the pilings.  The best way to fish  
with live shrimp is to “free shrimp”, where you only tie a treble  
hook to your line and nothing else, and let the shrimp swim freely  
under the lights.  You can also fish on the bottom with a lead  
weight and shrimp, finger mullet, or live croaker.  This is a great  
way to catch redfish or occasionally black drum.  The best time to  
catch trout under the lights is when the tide is coming in strong.   
The house is right on a channel, and schools of trout move through  
the channel with the rising or falling tide.  I have  
been told that fishing on the bottom works well sometimes during the  
middle of the day.

Upstairs Unit has 2 bedrooms & 2  
bathrooms, with a King & 2 double bed. 
There is a Full Kitchen, Washer & Dryer, Central Air  
Conditioning, Cable TV/VCR's in Living Room & Master Bedroom, There  
are two exterior balconies with major views! 
The downstairs unit has  
one bedroom & 1 bathroom and sleeps 6, with one queen, 2 twins  
(trundle bed) and 2 full-size futons. There is another full kitchen,  
washer & dryer, & Air Conditioning (Two window units). There is  
Cable TV/VCR's in the living room.  
Wheelchair accessiblity: 
My wife has an uncle who is confined to a wheelchair, and uses the bayhouse 
downstairs regularly.  The front door to the downstairs has an approximate 
4" step up from the asphalt.  The sliding glass door to the bayside of the 
downstairs has two sets of sliding glass door tracks, but no steps or change 
in floor level.  The fishing pier is two steps down (approx 6" each) from 
the concrete paving and seawall.  I should note that although my wife's uncle 
regularly comes to fish, he always has assistance, especially to get up and 
down from the fishing pier. 
 
The biggest concern might be the bathroom downstairs.  Although it does have 
a walk-in shower and no tub, it is a bit small and would most likely not fit 
a wheelchair.
