vacation rental description
Best spot on the lake!
Beautiful private property on its own point, located between Watkins Glen and Glenora, on the west side of beautiful Seneca lake.
One of the only private properties on this most centrally located and largest
of the Finger Lakes. It retains its original and private property integrity. Exclusive in that it is shared with no other properties or roads. Private drive ends at the cottage with its own point and beach.
Summer cabin
Original, beach-level family cottage (set back amonst trees, with large, lawn area in front, going out to the shoreline), built 1961-2, in unspoiled natural setting -
over 1,000 feet of shoreline, and over 40 acres of private land with woods and ravines to yourself...
This is a gracious simple cabin designed by Dr. Fritz Landsberg, Watkins Glen's physician, community leader, musician and artist from the 1940s through the 1970s, an era that saw the Grand Prix international race in its hey-day as well as the beginnings of the burgeoning New York wine industry, when visionary farmers introduced the Johannisburg Riesling grape to the soil on Seneca lake. The cabin stands as a gracious reminder of the last milenium and also a peaceful get-away. The cabin had one of the first phone lines in the area installed. The drinking water is u.v. filtered directly from the lake. The Landsbergs advocated for the health and preservation of Seneca lake, to keep it clean and pure. Two generations later, we are very proud stewards of this beautiful property and are happy to keep the summer tradition of gathering, relaxing and family fun going!
This is a wonderful headquarter locale for day trips to any nearby fingerlakes attraction: winecountry tours, Watkins
Glen, Ithaca, Corning, or...a spacious retreat from it all.
Perfect for a family get-together or small, private party.
rent by the week, 7 people max.
