Nature, wildlife, shelling, bicycling (Sanibel has 26 miles of bike
paths), beautiful sunsets, peace and relaxation in the hot tub.
Boating, kayaking, bird-watching, Ding Darling nature preserve and
all water sports such as fishing.

Two thirds of Sanibel Island is a nature preserve with an a wide
variety of native birds and wildlife including turtles, manatees,
dolphins, sting rays, herons, egrets, owls, fish hawks or osprey,
spoonbills, pelicans, and alligators.

South West Florida has the warmest winter climates in the continental US.

Each "winter", we tally or count the days that we have to turn the
heater on - usually less than 10 days per year!

And yet our summer weather is (usually) less hot and humid than
most of the rest of the US, because of our wonderful Island beach breezes.
Sanibel is usually 5-10 degrees cooler than the "mainland" (Fort Myers)
in summer and is also warmer in the winter,
due to the tropical effect of the Gulf of Mexico waters.

☼ rates include everything except 11% FL tax and any electricity
usage over $250 allowance. Since usual electric bill is less
than $200-$250 allowance, not very many guests have to pay any
electricity overage (generally only those who choose to heat
the pool above 82 degrees).

☼ a small pet may be allowed with non-refundable pet fee.

☼ we have a total of 6 Sanibel Island vacation homes for rent, please
email us for information and availabilities. All of them have pools,
several have hot tubs and all are very close to the West Gulf Dr.
Beach, which is uncrowded and noted for having good seashells.

☼ rates may be offered at a discount for longer vacation visits,
primarily at our other near beach homes. A longer vacation visit
is one that is 3 months or more during high season (Dec-Apr) or
two months or more during low season (May-Nov).

☼ rates and availability are subject to change, please email or
call to check current rates and availability.

☼ if you request, we will mail you our brochure of vacation home
rentals. If so, please include your name and full mailing address in
your email. If it slips my mind, send me a second email! (Please keep
in mind that my brain is enjoying too much sun! ;-)

∆ Sanibel Island zoning law requires a 28 day minimum rental for
private home rentals. If you wish to rent for less than 28 days,
please check the Sanibel Chamber of Commerce's website for
accommodations, or call the Chamber at 239~472~1080. Sanibel condos,
motels and cottages, and Captiva houses are not restricted by
Sanibel's 28 day minimum rule and may rent for 7 day periods.
