Vacation Rental Description

  Four Season vacation rental in the mountains of Maine right on
beautiful three-mile long, crystal clear Lake Hebron, just 15 miles
south of Greenville, at the head of Moosehead Lake.
 The Appalachian trail passes just outside the door, and we are
conveniently situated just close enough to the artsy village center.
  Enjoy spectacular year-round sunsets, the call of the loons and the
peaceful sounds of nature.
  Everybody who has been here loves this particular house and lake.
Just read our log book! It shows how much enjoyment our past guests
have had. 
  About a tank of gas from Boston, and a 4 1/2 hour, picturesque,
interesting drive northbound and you're there, where much of the
traffic, noise, and everyday stress will be left behind with every
mile. You'll see lots of unique stops, antique shops, yard sales, and
restaurants in that last hour of travel.
**OK - so we just rented out our last open week in July, but August
still has a couple weeks left, as does September. A September-Autumn
vacation is absolutely spectacular. Bob and I always reserve one or
two weeks for the leaf-peeping season, and we've already nabbed that
second full week of October, but don't despair! Columbus Day Week/end
is still open and that is usually barely past peak, and still beautiful.

Vacation Rental Amenities

  Our three main bedrooms are large and roomy. Two bedrooms have queen
beds, one bedroom has two twin beds. We also have a double futon, a
double pull-out couch, and even a couple of cots. 
  Fully equipped kitchen, with the expected utensils, dishes,
microwave, oven, and refrigerator. Also, a washer and dryer; Satellite
Direct TV, VCR, DVD, stereo, and telephone. Plenty of deck furniture
and a gas grill. We love our new 24' over-sized open deck! Also, in
the house, we just had the floors refinished, AND we installed a
brand-new tub and shower unit!
  A beautiful 40' wrap around enclosed porch with new overhead fans,
lots of reading material, and board games for those 'stay in the
house' days.
  From May to October, you may also choose to rent the two bedroom
apartment (over the garage). One room has a Queen-size bed, and the
other a double bed, Both rooms have dressers, mirrors, hooks, etc.;
and a fully equipped and functioning kitchen, a full-size bath,
air-conditioning, and overhead fans in every room! Very cute, cozy,
and functional, with views just as nice as the house.
   BRINGING MOM AND DAD? Rent both the house and the apartment so the
folks can have a little quiet refuge to themselves! 
  The water front sports a nice long dock in the summertime for
launching your canoes, kayaks, jet-skis, etc. Fishing off the dock is
fun for the kids as well as the folks.
 

Activities and Attractions

  Seasonal hunting, swimming, activities and sports all over the area.
Monson is centrally located to everything! Activities include an
endless list of:
kayaking, canoeing, water skiing, touring, hunting, fishing, hiking,
and mountain/rock climbing. ATV trails, waterfalls, rapids, etc.,
nearby to swim and explore.  
  Convenient shopping, antiquing, and endless yard sales, we are close
to Greenville/Moosehead Lake, Squaw Mountain, Lily Bay, Kokajo,
Katadin, Baxter State Park, the Forks, Big Wilson, Jackman,
Dover-Foxcroft, an hour 1/2 from Bangor, or Skowhegan, 45 minutes from
Newport, and so many other favorite places! 
  Take a leisure ride on the Old Katadin cruiser in Greenville, and
plan to eat at many of the fine restaurants there as well.
  Bring along your musical instruments because there's even a weekly
toe-tappin' jam session at the corner of our street - Pleasant Street,
at the Monson General store every Friday night to which all are
welcome to watch or jam! 
    Then again, if you don't feel like doing much of anything, it is a
most comforting place just chill and 
think,
ponder,
wonder,
...star-gaze.

Vacation Rental Rates

  Peak Month Rates: $875.00 per week, Saturday to Saturday. (Memorial
Day Weekend in May, thru November 30th).
Apartment is $550.00 per week. (sleeps 4), and will not be rented to
other parties while you are renting  - unless of course you want to
rent it for your own families or friends. 
  Just so you know...the Saturdays in the calendar that are in pink
usually mean arrivals/departures, so do not be deterred by the pink!
There is no other way in the calendar to reflect this. It simply means
one party is leaving in the morning, (then our cleaners come in to
clean) then, your arrival in the afternoons, (usually after 2:00). 
  Off season rates drop to $750.00 per week (house). 
$150.00 per day between any available Saturday to Saturday period.
$125.00 per day off season.
Weekend rates - please inquire. Occasionally we have breaks in between
vacationers and we'll rent the weekend out, or extend your long
vacation. Sometimes we may be able to switch our vaca time with yours,
or we may possibly be willing to stay at the apt. and you could have
the house. (Such as the weekend of the FLY-IN).
Additional Doggie Fee: $100.00 (so sorry, we can not accommodate
kitty-cats.)
Additional linens fee: $50.00. If you bring your own linens, towels,
etc., there is no fee. :)
The pics below were all taken by me, on our property. I try to change
them periodically. The hummingbird was the last one I saw in '07.
