vacation rental description

This luxury log home was built in 2005. Beautiful new cabin furnishings throughout. Everything in this home is upgraded from the kitchen to the game room. Tremendous views of Lake Nantahala and the Smokey Mountains from the two large decks. 30' ceilings on the second floor with wide open views from the lopen iving room and kitchen.

Relax by one of the two fireplaces. One wood burning in the living room and a gas log fireplace in the master bedroom. One bedroom and one bath on the upper floor and 3 bedrooms and one bath on the bottom floor. Large TV and game room, Master and upstairs bedroom.  This real log home is a unique and truly amazing place to stay.

Just come and relax in the Smoky Mountains. You are at 3,200 feet of elevation and the emerald colored Lake Nantahala is crystal clear. Pontoon boat rentals are nearby and allow you to explore and fish the lake.

Just pick up groceries in Franklin (16 miles) or Andrews (8 miles) on your way in and relax once you get here. The cabin in fully equipped with everything you’ll need. The views are truly amazing. This house is a quality built log home with wood floors and rustic charm. After a day of leaf-peeping, rafting, swimming, skiing, mountain biking or hiking you’ll find the hot tub inviting and the views breathtaking.

Our cabin is located about a quarter mile off of Wayah Rd which borders Lake Nantahala .  (135 Ridge Top drive, Topton, NC)  The roads are all paved to within a quarter mile of the cabin. The drive off Wayah Rd is gravel and has only one turn. This area is quiet, and very private.  There are only a couple of cabins above us on the mountain.  I have seen kids swimming off the dock.  The lake never seems crowded.  Usually only a couple of boats in view. Lakes End Cafe/Marina rents is about a mile from the cabin.

The cabin is about 1 1/2 hours from Asheville and 2 1/2 hours from Atlanta.  The beds are all full size with one being a bunk bed with a twin size over top.  Total sleeping is for 9.

The boat ramp on the lake is about a quarter mile from the neighborhood.  It has a dock and you can swim, ski, fish, etc. The entrance to the boating area is about 100 yards east of our gravel drive.  This is at 3,200 feet, so the water is always an emerald green color.  The lake also has salmon.  (only one on the east coast)  I have not fished there yet, but I see bass boats and pontoon boats on the lake.  The lake flows into Nantahala Gorge which has a lot of fly fishermen.  The Nantahala Outdoor Center is less than a half hour away and you can enjoy rafting in the summer, dining and mountain biking there.  The Great Smokey Mountain Railway is less than an hour away in Bryson City. )  The Lakes End Marina rents boats, and we have others in the area that rent boats as well.  Lakes End Marina is about a mile away.

We sleep 9 comfortably and the place is turn-key. There are 4 bedrooms.  One bedroom has a bunk bed with a double on the bottom, and a single on top. All you need to bring is food.

The cabin and surrounding area is beautiful, if you’ve never been in this section of the country, you are in for a treat.

traveler reviews for this lake nantahala cabin rental

Review submitted: July 22, 2014   Date of arrival: July 12, 2014

The house is way up in the mountains, very peaceful, the first thing that I noticed when I walked in was the cleanliness of the house, very clean and neat, and it smelled nice. Some of the houses you rent on vacation smell muggy or damp. The view was awesome, We had everything we needed, make sure you check their book it has great info, There is hiking, tubing, white water rafting, boating nearby. We had a blast, and look forward to going again.

Owners response: Mercedes...we are so glad you enjoyed your trip. We always look forward to our stays. The clear evenings are amazing with all the stars and no light pollution from cities. It is truly a beautiful area and can't wait to visit again.
