Nesting Ospreys at Waterfront Home - Rock Ledge Point in Boothbay Harbor

Relax and recharge in this beautiful, spacious and private home rental on the northwest side of
Westport Island. Located 45 miles north of Portland, Maine, Westport is uniquely positioned in the
heart of the midcoast. The home overlooks 300' of deep saltwater frontage along the Sheepscott
River with an exposed rock island at low tide allowing for wildlife viewing including a pair of
nesting osprey just above the home, seals, blue heron and cormorants. Enjoy a morning cup of coffee
on the 40' x 9' front deck or inside the great room (40' x 17') from the window seat. Upstairs you
will find 2 bedrooms and a shower bathroom. Both bedrooms have a full picture window view of the
river and tall trees lining the property. Watching the water ripple and the tree branches blow in
the wind is a soothing break from the stress of everyday life. King size beds with new mattresses
are a comfort after a full day of playing in the area. The main floor has a 12' x 12' bedroom off
the kitchen with a queen size bed and private bathroom including a tub and shower.

While there are many great restaurants in the area, you may also enjoy creating delicious meals in
the fully equipped kitchen overlooking the landscaped gardens. Cable television and a high speed
internet connection are available. The den just off the kitchen has a day bed to accommodate extra

home is painted moss green.

The property is on 3 acres of land in a natural setting within easy driving distance of two of
Maine's finest sandy beaches at Popham Beach and Reid State Park. The Island has two nature
preserves with picnic areas but the home itself has exposed ledges which lend themselves to private
picnic areas. Wiscasset is known for antiquing and nearby Bath, voted a Dozen Distinctive
Destination in 2005, provides great downtown shopping and is home to Bath Iron Works and Maine
Maritime Museum. Other nearby destination spots are Boothbay and Pemaquid Point.

The farmers almanac states peak foliage to be October 12th through October 22nd for Coastal Maine.  If you want to take a drive, peak foliage for Maine Inland areas are a little earlier, October 5th through the 15th.

June through September rate is $2000/week. April and May rate is $1800/week.
