Vacation Rental Description

Aloha and welcome to Hartwell Heaven and the Surf Shack!  We have May 31-June 7 and July 12-19 left 
for June/July dates for '08.  Some August weeks available too.  This 
charming cottage-style lake home on beautiful Lake Hartwell comes 
with a detached carriage house (our super groovy Surf 
Shack) that the kids (and the young at heart) will absolutely love! 
Perfect for family vacations.  A covered dock with a 26 ft. slip is 
in place for your boat or we can help you arrange a pontoon rental 
from a nearby marine center.  (Classic Grumman 17 ft (3 person) canoe 
and two pedal boats included in your rental!!!)

Rent our Hydrobike and eplore the lake in a brand new way!  Ask for details....

Two exterior decks on either side of the house, and a large screened-
in porch overlook the lake -- a great way to begin or end the day.  
Both decks have seating areas, one has a stainless propane grill.  
This home is located on a quiet cove perfect for those little ones 
learning to ski or for the avid fisherman.  Stone/timber walkway to 
the dock, beachy firepit area (with split log seating) and tree swing 
(make your kids push you!).  

MAIN HOUSE - 3BR, 2 1/2 BA.  Built-in bookshelves in the foyer 
are chock full of games, puzzles, books, magazines, even a pair of 
walkie-talkies for the kids to use (good way to keep tabs on them in 
the Surf Shack!).  Spacious master features king bed, walk-in closet, 
cable tv/dvd, private tiled bathroom with tub/shower) and luxurious 
bedding. 

Two additional bedrooms have connecting full bath (with huge shared 
closet area) and feature queen beds (with designer bedding and 
hypoallergenic mattress toppers) -- both open onto the screened porch 
with exceptional lake views.  One bedroom has tv/dvd.  There is also 
a comfy sleeper sofa in the sunroom for overflow.  Kitchen features 
ample cabinet space, plenty of tableware, flatware, blender, 
microwave, crock pot, bakeware, even a griddle for those pancake 
breakfasts everyone loves. 

Family room (lake views) features woodburning "Buck" stove, 
sofa and two recliners; sunroom (lake views) features two 
sofas (one is a sleeper sofa), and two lazy boy recliners -- everyone 
will have a place to curl up and relax, plus tv with cable, dvd/mp3 
player! 

Half bath adjacent to the kitchen area.  Huge laundry area.  The 
house is complete with everything a family needs, and more.  Dock is 
about 50 paces (very gradual grade) from the deck (very close corp 
line!).  Swimming is great off the dock -- expanded side area with 
adirondack styled chairs -- plenty of space to bring a cooler down 
and set up for the day.  Very little boat traffic, so you won't get 
sea sick from the dock moving all day either!

THE SURF SHACK - Our detached carriage house accommodates 5 people in 
beds (three singles and a full futon) (plus 4 additional sleeping 
mats for overflow if you need them!).  Approx. 700 square feet of 
heated/air conditioned living space.  The surf shack has two levels --
 main level has living area with a surfboard-themed futon (sleeps 2), 
a kitchenette featuring an over the top "tiki" bar, sink, mini 
fridge, microwave/toaster oven; game area has air hockey, foosball, 
wall mount tv/dvd, karaoke, hawaiian board games and 
loads of way cool retro hawaiian touches like vintage posters, mid-
century bamboo furniture, carved tikis, surf boards, all of which 
will have you feeling like you are on the Big Island!! 

Upstairs you will find a retro-hawaiian themed full tiled bath (lake 
views) and a very fun sleeping area with three twin beds done in 
comfy Pottery Barn Wahine bedding, complete with grass bedskirts! 
Sleeping area has another tv/dvd, this one with a gaming system!  A 
second story deck off the back of the Surf Shack completes the 
picture -- perfect to walk out and enjoy the view as you plan your 
day of fun at the lake. 
 
If you rent this house, make a run to the grocery store and never get 
back in your car. Everything you need is here for a wonderful, 
relaxing week with your family.  Grill dinner on the deck while the 
kids shoot hoops on the basketball goal in the driveway, or play  in 
the gameroom of the surf shack, and then enjoy a quiet meal on the 
screen porch. After dinner, jump in the boat (or our canoe or pedal 
boats) for a ride to enjoy the sunset. After dark, make a fire in the 
stainless steel fire pit, sit on split log seats and enjoy smores 
with the kids!  This house is five minutes from downtown Hartwell and 
25 minutes from Anderson, South Carolina.

Lake Hartwell is at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains, so drive 
one hour "up" on the Cherokee Foothills Scenic Highway and you'll be 
in the mountains for the day!  "Hartwell Heaven" is situated in a 
very convenient location (one of the closest rentals we have seen to 
downtown Hartwell) on a great family-friendly cove.  Close to town, 
yet secluded and serene.

Lake Hartwell is a premiere fishing lake for Striper and Largemouth 
Bass. Some of the Stripers caught on Lake Hartwell have weighed 50 
lbs. or more! With our southern climate, you can fish Lake Hartwell 
all year.  So, if you've been thinking of booking a fishing trip with 
your buddies, checkout our off-season rates and make it happen!

Rent for the week, the weekend (upon availability), or just call when 
you can come. You will be so comfortable here that you will want to 
stay forever, or at least come back again and again.  Snowbirds from 
the North, call us regarding reduced monthly rates in winter.  So get 
out your fishing rods, water skis or bathing suit and come on down 
for a great time. We hope to see you soon!  Sorry, no pets, no house 
parties and you must be 25 years old to rent!

your party!  Wireless internet (check your e-mails after a day on the 
lake!).

Peak Summer - $1950/wk (includes the Surf Shack)
$150 Cleaning 
$250 Security Deposit required - will be fully refunded if no damage.
Weekends and Nightly rates based on availability - please ask.

Holiday rentals subject to a rate increase.
Off Peak - $1,000 wk plus cleaning
