Ladies Weekend

Lucyjlou (White Lake, MI)
Review submitted: November 14, 2011   Date of arrival: November 11, 2011

A group of 12 women rented the mansion for a weekend. We had a great time. This house is so impressive when you arrive. We were so excited to get the chance to stay here. The animals throughout the house are so cool and we gave them all names even. The bar/game room is super cool, although be warned if you want to play pool, there are a few balls missing and most of the sticks are broken. We did just shoot some balls around for fun, and managed just fine.

The kitchen was awesome and plenty big enough for all of us. The wall stoves work fine, but the digital display doesn't work so took a few mintues to figure it out, but they did heat up and cook just fine, you just can't read the display. The kitchen really only has like 3 very small pans, but we weren't planning to cook, so this wasn't an issue, but good to know if you plan too.

We loved the dining room! so pretty and great to all be able to sit together for meals. We did bring a bunch of movies up and it was a disappointment that the main living room tv does not turn on. We were upset by that, and the manager called us back the next day and said she was aware and it would be fixed soon, so that may be okay if you go later. We did get to watch them upstairs in the master bedroom and that was okay, as it was more comfortable up there anyhow and plenty large enough.

The bedrooms were awesome. The beds were clean and comfortable. THe rooms were so cool with all the windows. the bathrooms were large and clean. Bring toliet paper and hand and bath towels and hand soap with you. The dryer didn't work in the laundry room but not a huge issue.

The pool area was so impressive. The hot tub was nice, but the pool was really cold. A few of us used it anyhow, but most of the ladies wouldn't even try it out. It really did take your breath away to get in. I am not sure it was the 72 degrees or whatever it was supposed to be, but it was VERY cold....I own a pool at home and I can swim in pretty cool water and be happy and i thought it was cold. But, I did get in, as did a few others and it was very clean and pretty. I just wish it was warmer.

Overall, it was a great time and a wonderful weekend. We loved the house, and the few small issues were not nearly enough to dampen my experience. I would return in a heartbeat, and we are already talking about a couples weekend in the spring.

Great Home! Very Satisfied!

Good Ole Boy (Spring Lake, MI)
Review submitted: October 28, 2011   Date of arrival: September 16, 2011

My friends and I had a great experience at the Irons Mansion during the weekend of September 16th, 2011.

If you have a large group of guys/girls or are just looking to get away for the weekend and need a lot of space, the Irons Mansion is the place to be. Once again plenty of space, it was very clean and the bedrooms are of great size. The kitchen area is very big as well and we were able to cook a couple of large meals with great ease. The pool is obviously a big attraction, along with the hot tub and both temps were set just fine. The home was heated well, and hot water availability was great for the amount of guests we had. The bar area and pool table were also a highlight of the home, and both were in great shape.

We had great weather, so being outside was a big plus here. We were able to cook outside, walk the trails surrounding the home and take in the fall scene. If you need any supplies, you can jump in your car and you are only 5-10 minutes away from some local stores.

I have no doubt that the Irons Mansion will be in the future for my freinds, family and I!

Perfect!

The pool was a highlight for sure! The pool was much larger than I expected. It was around 80 which is a little cool but the hot tub was 104 which made up for it. The bedrooms are massive and easily slept the extra people in our party on air mattresses.
We also enjoyed the large kitchen and dining room because it easily fit everyone in our party.
The home was very clean when we arrived accept a few areas in the unfinished basement.
There was basically everything there accept towels and bathroom supplies which was great.
We spent most of our time hiking the nearby trails, doing some color tours, wine tasting etc.

We will for sure visit again.
