Vacation Rental Description

Relax and enjoy the delights of western North Carolina in this 1,100
square-foot cottage on a deep-water cove of Lake Hickory.  Enjoy
swimming, fishing, jet-skiing, and boating from the dock, or just
watching the blue heron, geese, and ducks from the sunroom or 
patios.  

3-level home down slope of hill; 4 steps from upper level with
bedroom, bath and entrance/utility room to great room (kitchen and
living room w/ wood fireplace), and 2 steps down to sunroom (study 
and
sitting area with view of lake on 3 sides); 2 stone patios 
overlooking
lake and walkway to 16’x16’ dock on deep water.

The spacious great room and sunroom (each 30 feet long), in addition
to the half-acre site, make this a wonderful place for a one- or
two-week vacation with the family -- or a longer-term exploration of
retirement possibilities. This quiet country location is just seven
miles from Taylorsville, and 12 miles from Hickory.

Retirees and soon to be retired -- This is a great location to check
out possible retirement homes in western and central-western North
Carolina: Hickory, Asheville, Hendersonville, Boone, Charlotte,
Winston-Salem and Greensboro areas are all close enough to scout out
and still come 'home' each night. For extended stays in the
off-season, call for special rates.

Vacation Rental Amenities

Fully equipped (refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, microwave, toaster
oven, coffee maker, ice-maker, filtered drinking water) & stocked
kitchen w/ basic food supplies; table seats 6.

Queen size bed & 2 queen-size sleeper sofas (1 in greatroom, 1 in
sunroom); sheets, pillows, blankets & towels provided.

Tub/shower in bathroom; toilet paper, soap, shampoo provided.

Large capacity washer/dryer; A/C & central heat; ceiling fans in all
rooms.  Filtered water at well house & in kitchen.  Satellite TV, VCR
& DVD player; DSL connection to internet.  Books and a few games for 
children & adults.

No Smoking; No Pets

Activities and Attractions

Swimming & fishing from dock; country walks in neighborhood. 
Riverbend Park and public boat launches nearby.  Gem mining in
Hiddenite; auto races in Hickory, Charlotte & No Wilksboro; furniture
& other shopping in Hickory; 1 to 1.5 hours to Great Smokies,
Grandfather Mountain, Asheville, skiing, Charlotte, Winston-Salem.

Vacation Rental Rates

Spring (3/1 - 5/2): $540 per week, $360 for 3 nights; $80 each
additional night

Summer (5/3 - 9/5): $575 per week -- minimum one week only

Fall 9/6 - 11/28): $525 per week; $360/3 nights; $80/extra night

Winter (11/29 - 2/27): $500 per week, $320 for 3 nights; $80
each additional night

Christmas/New Year's (12/21 - 1/2): $600/week; $400/3 nights; $80/extra night

Plus 7.0% NC tax and $100 refundable security-cleaning-key deposit
