Cove's End is a new, handcrafted log home,at the end of a
private road on Raccoon Cove, facing Frenchman's Bay. From it's
wooded hillside setting, there are sweeping views to Hancock Point,
Meadowpoint, and the Porcupine Islands. This tidal beach, reached by
stairs, offers an
everchanging panorama of sea grasses, colorful seaweed, tidal pools,
long, flat rock formations perfect for sunbathing and picnicing.
Kayak, canoe, swim when the tide's in, and harvest clams and mussels
when the tide's out. Lounge or dine on the large wrap around deck,
hang hammocks (provided)from trees on the waterfront.
Inside, view the woods and water from a leather recliner sofa through
a two story wall of windows and enjoy the large fieldstone fireplace.
The greatroom and loft are roofed with huge purlin logs, and the
whole house has beamed ceilings, walled with handpeeled logs or wood
paneling.
The first floor consists of a greatroom and dining area, with access
to deck dining, with open, spacious tiled kitchen. Two cedar panelled
bedrooms (double beds)and a slate tiled bath with handpainted mexican
sink and accessories. The second floor's huge loft bedroom (queen bed)

downeast of Ellsworth, off of route 184. From the Lamoine Beach (5
minute walk)there are views of Mount Desert Island and Acadia Park.
Lamoine Beach is one of the few natural sand beaches in Maine. They
have picnic tables and barbecues, and a boat launch, kayak rental and
lessons. All along this
peninsula there are small coves and beaches for swimming with
dramatic views and very few people. Getting to Bar Harbor, through
back roads, eliminates the traffic crunch of route 3. Bar Harbor is
about 20 miles away. Trenton, the gateway to Acadia is only 8 miles
away. A network of private roads are perfect for hiking or biking.
