Riverwood Lodge is one of our four, elegant, Healdsburg riverfront vacation 
homes. All are under three miles from Healdsburg, in the beautiful 
heart of Sonoma County Wine Country.  All are located driectly on the 
Russian River, with private beachfronts.  (For details on the other

Riverwood is spacious, elegant, and relaxing.  Its private beach, 
large covered decks, and comfortable areas for lounging and relaxing make it a 
great place to get away and unwind.  The home is outstanding from its large, 
spacious size; its beautiful decor; covered decks, vaulted ceilings; large 
recreation room; grand dining room; comfortable, fireside living 
area; riverview spa; and private beachfront.  It's decorated in 
casual, rustic elegance, with meticulous provisions being made for guests' 
comfort and enjoyment.
 
Riverwood makes a great Wine Country Getaway, and from our guests we

Riverwood is close & convenient to Dry Creek, Alexander, and Russian 
River Valleys.  It lies in an area known for its world class 
vineyards and wineries, scenic, natural beauty, Tuscan climate, 
agricultural bounty and locally produced gourmet foods, natural hot-
springs spas, dramatic, photogenic coastline, native culture and 
history. 

Riverwood is two and 1/2 miles from the historical central plaza in 
Healdsburg, which is the charming epicenter of the region’s wine 
appelations.  Known for its historic central plaza, renown 
restaurants, famous chefs, intriguing shops, antiques, tasting 
rooms, art galleries, musical events, and live theatre, Healdsburg is 
a choice destination for vacations and getaways.

This peaceful and relaxing, lodge-like home is large and 
accomodating, with its recreation room level, decks, gathering 
places, and an impressive great toom making it the perfect setting 
for guests of all ages and interests, and a great home base from 
which to explore the region.  The home also ofers a private beach, 
riverside decks, and a relaxing spa.

From quiet retreats, to family reunions, to weekend getaways with 
great friends, everyone enjoys sharing cozy gatherings around the 
warmth of the stone fireplace. The completely supplied kitchen will 
please the chef in your group, both with its heritage gas range (a 
new reproduction of a classic), and it's wonderful modern amenities. 
The intimate eating area in the kitchen has bay windows to provide 
views of the river and passing canoes. The dining table in 
the greatroom seats twelve.  The large covered deck has patio dining 
furniture and a Weber gas grill.  A riverview spa for five, kayaks, 
and a private beach for seasonal swimming and sun bathing complete 
the list of special amenities.
 
Guestrooms pamper you with very comfortable, queen size pillow top 
mattresses, down-alternative comforters, and fine white linens.

Riverwood offers overnight accommodations for 8-14 guests. For 
smaller, or larger groups, please ask about our 3 other vacation 
homes in the nearby area: Firefly Lodge (sleeps 8-12), Northwoods 
Lodge (sleeps 4-8), and the Old River Lodge (sleeps 6-9).

Vacation Rental Amenities

Lodge style living room with a massive river rock fireplace. 
Comfortable fireside seating, including a leather sofa and loveseat, 
plus ample additional seating, a flat screen TV, with CD, VCR, and 
DVD players. WIFI Broadband (wireless internet)is provided free of 
charge.  Central air-conditioning.  Dining table with river views, 
seating twelve. Kitchen with breakfast eating area and bay windows.
Refrigerator with ice maker, cookware, utensils, coffeemaker, toaster
and small kitchen appliances, microwave, dishwasher, and trash
compactor. Deck off the kitchen has an umbrella table for morning 
coffee.

Large, partially covered deck off the living room has a gas BBQ 
grill and patio dining for fourteen. There is a 5-person hot tub with 
riverviews, and a gentle incline and stairs leading to the river's 
edge.  Kayaks are available in season, as well as, swimming, river 
rafting, and sunbathing opportunities.

There are four private sleeping areas for guests and three 
bathrooms, one with a washer and dryer.  The largest bedroom (the 
master bedroom) has a vaulted pine ceiling and a private master bath. 
All the main guest rooms have new pillow top mattresses, high quality 
white linens and queen-size beds.  Overflow sleeping areas are 
provided in the great room with a day bed and pop up trundle unit.  
In the recreation room on the lower level there are two log futon 
beds, as well.

Riverwood Lodge is located along a scenic stretch of the Russian 
River, and yet only two and 1/2 miles from Healdsburg's picturesque 
town plaza.  Golf links are located one mile away.
   
Activities include dining in award winning restaurants; visiting 
nearby wineries and tasting rooms; sight seeing; buying fresh local 
produce at the farm; cycling throughout this widely acclaimed, 
cycling venue; visiting natural hot spring spas, ancient redwood 
groves, and sandy Pacific Ocean beaches; enjoying hot air balloon 
rides over the vineyards; plus the delight of shopping in Healdsburg, 
dipping into its art galleries, book stores, museums, or attending a 
live performance at its Raven Theater.  Arrangements can be 
made for organized tours, limousine service, bicycle and canoe 
rentals.  
  
There are DVD and VCR players and two televisions.  In the 
recreation room table tennis is available.  Board games, puzzles, 
videos, a library of natural history books are some of the activities 
for guests' enjoyment.  There are also a log swing, and a picnic area.

Activities and Attractions

Things to explore: We are located directly on the Russian River with 
our own private beach.  Healdsburg is just 2 1/2 miles away with its 
historic town plaza, surrounded by charming shops, antique emporiums, 
art galleries, cinemas, and tasting rooms.  Great cuisine, winery 
tours, and breathtaking sight seeing abound. One mile to golf 
links. Tennis nearby. Cycling, canoeing, kayaking, and swimming. Lake 
Sonoma in nearby Dry Creek Valley offers jet and water skiing, a fish 
hatchery and natural history museum. Thirty five minutes to visit 
ancient redwood groves at Armstrong Grove State Park. Just 45 minutes 
to sandy ocean beaches where you can enjoy tide pooling, beach 
combing, and picnicking.  Or, buy fish, fresh from the boat, filleted 
at the dock, and order delicious clam chowder at the Tides Wharf 
Restaurant.  Other daytrip suggestions include sojourns into 
neighboring Napa Valley, just over the hills from Healdsburg, via 
scenic, vineyard bordered and forested roads.  While there, you may 
want to try the natural mineral, or mud baths at one of the many spas 
in Calistoga.  There are so many things to do, and Riverwood is 
centrally located for easy access to Healdsburg, and all of 
surrounding Wine Country. Riverwood seems worlds apart, but is 
located just 70 miles north of San Francisco.
