Vacation Rental Description

Beautiful 3 story victorian conveniently located in the heart of the 
5-Islands oceanside community.  This 3 bedroom, 2 bath home sleeps 
up to 10 people and is fully appointed with just about anything you 
would need including dishes and linens, board games, puzzles, a 
library of fine books, lawn furniture, an inflatable kayak and a BBQ 
grill. 
   Recreation and fun are literally at your doorstep here...just 
around the bend is lovely, secluded Ledgemere beach where you can 
stretch out on the sand, take a swim or take small children wading 
in the gently lapping waves. Take a bold oceanfront "rock walk" 
along the granite bluffs or launch your kayak to explore the harbor 
or ocean.  When you get hungry for lunch or dinner stroll down the 
lane for a delicious fresh seafood feast, from lobster to crab rolls 
to hot dogs, the whole family will find something to please. Top it 
off with a scrumptious gourmet ice cream cone!  Better yet send the 
kids over to get the food while you relax and watch from the third 
floor deck taking in the spectacular views of harbor and ocean. 
   Catch the excitement of the locals when you see a trophy tuna 
being hoisted onto the dock at the pier. You and your family can 
enjoy your own fishing luck at the same pier where very productive 
mackerel fishing is the rule!  If you prefer heavier surf swimming 
or fishing Reid State Park is a 5 minute drive away. Bring the 
boogie board!
   A 15 minute drive will take you to the charming, historic city of 
Bath where boutiques and antique shops will delight the shoppers in 
the family. There are also museums and several art galleries to be 
explored in the area. Many other fine dining opportunities abound 
here. The Bath library is fully equipped and tourist-friendly. 
  Five islands is a wonderful place for a quiet getaway in the off 
season. You have the beaches and trails to yourself and the scenery, 
especially in the fall, is absolutely breathtaking! Enjoying coffee 
and a good book on our glass-enclosed porch overlooking the natural 
beauty of the area can be just what the doctor ordered!

Have "lobstahs", homemade icecream and other great foods on the 
wharf. You can watch lobstermen and fishermen unload their daily 
catch right from your deck.
  *  Reid State Park (2.5 miles).  One of Maines best sand beaches 
with spectacular tidepools and rocks.
  *  Ledgemere Nature Walk and Beach (1/2 mile from home).  A 1.5 
mile rock and road walk through a quiet pine forest and ocean 
bluff and beach.  
  *  5-Islands Tennis Courts (open for our guests).
  *  Robin Hood Meeting House- 4 Star Dining and The Osprey 
Restaurant-casual dining just a ten minute drive by car or boat.
  *  Sheepscot Bay Boat Company (1 block).  Rent boats/kayaks or a 
mooring for your boat while you vacation. Rent for a day or the week.
  *  Bath/Brunswick Maine.  Home of great restaurants and bars, 
great shopping and attractions.  Just a 20 minute drive from the 
house.
  *  Freeport (a shoppers heaven on earth) Home to LLBean and lots 
of other fine outlet stores, just 30 minutes away.
  *  Portland - Maine's cultural epicenter is loaded with city 
attractions, night life, shopping, entertainment, museums and The 
Scotia Prince(include a weekend cruise to Canada on this vacation!). 
Check the Cumberland County Civic Center for upcoming shows and 
events too.  All this and more - only 45 minutes away.

Jan 1   to May 3      $1,500/week plus 7% sales tax
May 3 to Oct 4        $2,000/week plus 7% sales tax
Oct4  to Dec 31        $1,500/week plus 7% sales tax
Security and rental agreement required.
