Oceanview Acreage - White Ibis Inn in Cudjoe Key

We hope we can welcome you to White Ibis Inn, a peaceful 1.62 acre gated estate overlooking the Atlantic, with two houses, a private pool and hot tub, and just 20 minutes drive to exciting old town Key West.

Looking for nearby beaches? Located at 125 Colson Drive, Cudjoe Key, mile marker 21, White Ibis Inn is also a 20 minute drive to Bahia Honda State Park at mile marker 37. This park has several great beaches for swimmers of all ages, with the best white sand in the lower Keys. It's very well maintained with full amenities for a day trip.

What is a 'White Ibis'? It's a type of bird that looks like a smaller version of a heron that is found in Florida. We usually have several poking around for insects on the lawns. Our Main House is sort of like an ibis because it is white and has long legs too (stilts).

The Main House was architecturally designed in the Caribbean or "conch" style, with sturdy wood construction and covered balconies for each room with recessed French doors for shade and letting the breeze through. With all the doors open on the top floor, the strong breeze can often make it feel like you are on a boat. Although built in the late '80s, the old-fashioned design makes the house feel historical. Kids love sneaking from room to room through the connecting balconies and playing hide-and-seek.

The Guest House was built a few years later, and to hurricane strength standards. It has a solid-poured concrete roof and heavy 2" thick shutters which serves well for keeping the house cool, even though not used for protecting inhabitants from hurricanes anymore.

Together, without all the balconies, there is 2708 sq. ft. of living space. There are also tables and chairs under the Main House and around the pool area.

The whole property is surrounded by an impressive 7' high white picket fence and two gates.

Main House: 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, kitchen, laundry room, living room with queen sofabed, dining area, large wood porch/lanai.

Guest House: 2 bedroom, 1 bath, kitchen, laundry area, surrounding balcony on 2nd floor.

In our neighborhood is a convenience store and two restaurants. A few blocks away is Cudjoe Gardens Marina with boat rentals, dockage, and more.

Cudjoe Key is approximately two square miles with the Atlantic Ocean
on one side and the Gulf of Mexico on the other. It is connected by
bridge to Summerland Key to the north, where there are gas stations,
banks, a US post office, dive & tackle and swimwear shops, convenience store,
restaurants, and medium-size grocery store.

Transportation

Provided for big and little kids are a half basketball court and
wooden playground set with swings, slide and climbing bars. Kids
love the main house because of the room to room breezeways which
they use as secret walkways when playing hide and seek.

Boat right around Cudjoe and many other keys to find the best flats
fishing, snorkeling, and secluded beaches. Snorkel around mangroves
to see groups of snapper, grouper, stingrays, barracudas and much
more. During low tide, you can bank your boat on a sand bar walk in
shallow water on pristine white sand!

Looe Key Reef National Marine Sanctuary, within 5 miles offshore, is
one of the best diving sites in the world. Unlock the mysteries of
the living coral, swim with the fish, spend a day on our gorgeous
water wind surfing, para-sailing, kayaking or backcountry boating.
