Stunning Renovated Luberon Stone Home in Vaucluse

Our Provencal, Luberon home, Le Mas des Gardiols, is an authentic Provencal stone house over
three hundred years old with beamed ceilings, exposed stone walls,
plus a traditional bread oven, and spiral staircase to the second
level. The home rests beside a cherry orchard near the home's
garden where the swimming pool is nestled among lavender, roses, and
oleander. Le Mas Des Gardiols is located in a sunny, quiet hamlet outside the small,
perched village of Joucas that dates back to Charlemagne.

Our ancient Provencal home was recently, lovingly restored with modern baths,
extra hot water heaters, brand new comfortable beds, a gourmet
kitchen; and is decorated with authentic Provencal antique
furnishings and interior appointments. A lovely garden containing
provencal spices and flowers decorates the private courtyard where a
stone table serves as the gathering place for meals, or an aperitif.

Ground level: A totally equipped, modern kitchen, a dining area with
spiral staircase to the second level, sitting room with old baker's
oven off courtyard, bedroom (queensize bed) with fireplace, and
toilet/bath/shower surround a private, entrance courtyard.

Upper level: A sunny family room, three bedrooms, one with a
fireplace (two with kingsize beds --one has two twins pushed
together) one with twin beds, two baths, a family room/library, and
a detached private room for storage. The family room overlooks the
courtyard where friends/family gather around a provincial stone
table. A small private patio lies off the master bedroom for quiet
reading time.

Separate: Laundry room/utility room; large garden and swimming
pool; large cherry orchard. A comfortable eating area, featuring a
second stone table, is located behind the pool for candle lit
dinners on warm evenings. The dining area looks out over the cherry
orchard to the Luberon Valley and its lovely perched villages.

Delicious Luberon, reasonably priced wines can be found at local co-
ops and nearby domaines with world famous Chateauneuf-du-Pape
less than one hour away. Besides wine, a route des oliviers runs
from the Luberon to St Remy. Here one can discover to fine tasty
olive oil, olives and tapanades. Alternately you may also eat at
one of the many world-class and Michelin star rated restaurants in
the vicinity.

The house is totally equipped: kitchen includes dishwasher,
microwave, refrigerator, full-size, oven, toaster, coffee-maker,
blender, spices, soaps-basic, paper-towels, thermos-bottle, cooler-
large, outdoor grill. For laundry you will find washer, laundry
detergent, dryer, iron ironing-board. The bedrooms and bathrooms are
fully equipped.

Home recreation options include a private swimming pool, beach
towels, beach chairs are present, and outdoor shower; 2 bicycles
are also provided. Books-Adult; Books-Kids; Games-Adults; Games-Kids

One will find a phone; fax-machine modem-jack; internet/local-

Les Gardiols is located in the heart of the Luberon Valley made
famous by Peter Mayle. You will be enjoying the nature preserve for
walks, bike rides, canoeing, ballooning, and antiquing. Tennis,
golf, and horseback riding opportunities can be found nearby. Clean
Mediterranean beaches are 80 minutes away and make an easy day
trip. In the peaceful mornings, you can take a 7 minute scenic walk
up the hill to the perched medieval village of Joucas for your fresh
bread and croissants, or drive no more than 10 minutes to Gordes,
Roussillon, and Goult which are all picturesque villages and each
with a different allure.

The region abounds with history beginning with the Romans.
Important ruins remain at nearby Arles and Orange. Avignon, home
of the French popes during the Roman Catholic Church?s France exile
in the 14th c is just a short trip, and Petrarch, one literary
symbol of the renaissance lived much of his life in nearby Fountaine
de Vaucluse. Marquis de Sade?s castle is located in nearby Le Coste
and Madame de Sevigne?s daughter lived in nearby Grignan where the
chateau remains open to visitors. This is the short list. A more
