30 minutes to Cape May or Avalon

the home is on a bird preserve Early June the horse shoe crabs lay their eggs which atracks many different  species of birds and animals. In early july the turtles come in a lay their eggs . Also in July flounder come by so the fishing and crabbing is very good. September is a nice weather month , October fun to  watch the football games and hand out there. The colors are nice

My family went down, wife, daughter {21} and son {16}. You drive thru @ 4 miles of preserve lands/salt marshes. When you get to the street of about 14 other house you realise you have picked a great spot. The house is clean, well stocked with cooking goods and in nice condition. It is surrounded witha deck and off the deck a 80' dock goes out into the bay.
Sitting on the rear deck, living room all you can see is the Delare Bay, the sound of the ocean and beautiful skies. We didn't need to turn on any airconditioning because there is always a cool breaze. The water come right up to bunkers of the house at high and low tides.
The dock alllows fishing, boatin, crabbing. And we caught alot of good sized blue claws. Fishing was fun we caught some green eels.
The front of the house has you looking out on @1300 acres of preserve. Full of wildlife of all types. We even had an American Eagle visit us regularly. He sat on our neighbors telephone pole and kept an eye out on the waters activity.
There are alot of marinas in the area to visit. Restaurants are up on rt. 47 or you can drive to Cape May, Wildwood which are @ 40 minutes away.
You are definitely secluded from the hustle and bustle you have at other shore points but you are close enough to visit those areas.
A neighbor next door is a professional crabber and his buoys are out right in front of the house. Each morning or so he would go out and bring back 6-10 bushels of crabs. After we met, he gave us some great crabs from the days catch.
The other neighbors we met were freindly and polite always to say hi or wave as you went by.
I highly recommend this locatiion and have already placed my reservation for next year. The owner, Alex is pleasant and helpful. He also said we could use his canoes that are under the house.
Oh yea, around the corner is a light house with clean white beaches. We swam there with our dogs. Other people who came brought there dogs or just laid on the beach and went swimming.

Comfortable, out of the way house with plenty of room and a nice dock. House is on the bay side so it gets a great sunset and no early morning sun. As noted on the description this house is 30 miles from Cape May. It's also about that from Avalon Beach which we thought was much better. Consult with owners and neighbors for the best eateries and attractions. Owner was very helpful and easy to communicate with.

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers

Great Vacation!

Just what we were looking for! Quiet and away from everything. This was a great place to really relax. Myself, husband, three sons and a few friends enjoyed, crabbing and fishing. The house was plenty big enough and the kitchen was fully equipped. The deck was our place to hang out and look out over the bay while having dinner and enjoying good old fashioned board games, like Monopoly and Battle Ship. We saw many sea turtles and several horseshoe crabs throughout our stay and looked forward to watching the changing tides and the many birds living in the area. If your looking for a vacation where you want to be removed from the hustle and bustle, this is the place for you. This is a place to share some quality family time.

Recommended for: families with teenagers, pet-friendly, romantic getaway
