Vacation Rental Description

Cozy cottage with partial water view in Southwest Harbor, across the 
street from the public Town Wharf (launch your kayak!) and within 
walking distance of the town.  Also just across the street is the 
stop for the (in season) free Islander shuttle to Acadia National 
Park, Bar Harbor, and other locations on Mt. Desert Island, 
including Bar Harbor Airport.

New kitchen with retro vintage stove. Dining room with open gas log 
heater.  The master bedroom has a queen size bed and a view of the 
harbor with its lobster boats and pleasure craft, while the second 
bedroom has a bed that converts to two twins.  Full bath with 
tub/shower.  Additional commode in basement.  Front deck 
for quiet evenings; front and backyards for watching the sky or 
cookouts.

Washer and dryer; Cable TV; VCR; Linens provided; 
Microwave; Dishwasher; Telephone (local and incoming calls); 
Coffeemaker; Cooking utensils including lobster pot; Gas log heater 
in dining rom; Retro vintage stove in kitchen; Gas BBQ grill; Small 
telescope; additional commode in basement.

Property caretaker nearby.  Storage shed in the read for bikes and 
other gear.

Activities and Attractions

Southwest Harbor has art shops, shopping, restaurants and various 
amenities of its own within walking distance.  Bike to enchanting 
Seawall.  In season, take the nearby and free Islander shuttle to 
Acadia National Park and Cadillac Mountain, Bar Harbor, and a 
wonderful variety of sites.  In Bar Harbor you can drive or walk out 
to Bar Island for hiking and wonderful views, but be sure to be back 
before the tide turns!  A short drive takes you to Bass Harbor Head 
Light, among the most photographed objects on the North American 
continent.

Rent a bicycle and take it with you on the ferries to explore Swans 
Island, Winter Harbor, Schoodic or the Cranberries.  Rent a kayak or 
go on a guided kayak tour and make Mt. Desert a personal experience, 
afloat on Frenchman Bay at sunset.

In season, check out the free Acadia Weekly newspaper for 
information about the Island's repertory theatre, clambakes, free 
activities at Acadia National Park such as photo tours, 
instructional opportunities, hiking adventures, terrific views, 
horse drawn carriage rides; Bar Harbor with its shops, whale and 
puffin cruises, and specials on lobster dinners.

Sail aboard the Sea Princess from Northeast Harbor on a sunset 
cruise to Little Cranberry Island and dinner at Isleford Dock 
Restaurant.  Travel to Schoodic Penninsula and experience the 
untamed Atlantic.

$1,000/week July and August
$800/week June, September and October
$200/week November-mid May
Rates available for Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Year's

Weekly rentals are Saturday to Saturday
Check-in 3 p.m.  Check-out 10 a.m.

$300 deposit due to confirm reservation;
Balance due two weeks before arrival.
