West Canada Creekside Vacation Rental in Newport

This fully furnished camp is located on the picturesque West Canada
Creek between Newport, NY and Poland, NY directly off of NY State
Route 28 in Herkimer County. It is extremely private on 7 acres of
wooded land.

Whether you fish, snowmobile, ski, hike, kayak/canoe or simply need a
retreat from everyday life, you will truly enjoy your stay. It is
available year round and is fully winterized with both electric and
wood heating sources.

It is located just 20 minutes north of Utica, 1½ hours from Albany,
NY and approximately 4 hours from New York City and Boston.

The camp is a single story ranch which holds 6-10 people comfortably
with 3 bedrooms each with a full size bed, two full baths, a fully
equipped kitchen, dining room, a very large living room with
two “pull out” couches and a den with a third “pull out” couch. The
living room and each bedroom has a color TV with direct TV. We even
have two outdoor grills (charcoal and gas) for your cooking
enjoyment. Linens and towels are provided. It also has an on-site
washer and dryer. Maid service is also available (fee extra).

For Fishermen/women:
The West Canada Creek offers wonderful trout fishing with excellent
quality hatches and diverse water conditions. Primarily a brown
trout river, it's been known to offer fish 16 to 18+ inches on a
regular basis, although the average Browns found here are 12 to 14
inches. The West Canada also has a Trophy Section a few miles north
of the camp with plenty of roadside NYS designated fishing areas.
Check with the New York State Department of Environmental
Conservation for licensing, usage and access details.

For Snowmobilers/Skiers:
Enjoy this winter wonderland either snowmobiling or skiing at a
nearby ski area. The camp is located very close (rideable) to the
West Canada Trail Riders, the Salisbury Ridgerunners and the Ohio
Ridge Riders trail systems.

For Leaf Peepers:
Early to mid-October offers a truly spectacular scenic display of
nature’s beauty. Enjoy peaceful and scenic rides around the region
on NYS Routes 28, 12 and 8 as they go north into the Adirondack Park
or south into the Mohawk Valley. Also take full advantage of the
surrounding area with diversions on the country roads that comprise
the Kayuhoora Valley.

For Simply A Weekend-A-Way:
If you just simply want some time away from everyday life, this is
your place. You can enjoy a peaceful stay at our secluded camp with
all of the essentials needed for your comfort. We offer an
interesting assortment of reading materials in our den, board games,
DVDs/VCRs tapes. Enjoy these inside in front of our large Vermont
Castings wood stove or outside overlooking the creek. Either way
you’ll have plenty of “relax” time.

Also enjoy the hospitality in the local Villages of Newport and
Poland with the many diners, pubs and restaurants, or venture further
out to take advantage of the many area activities and attractions.
