vacation rental description
Situated on the first hole of the Waterlefe Golf course with a sweeping view of the fairway and green from the caged lanai and pool, we know you will enjoy this truly unique golf-side resort in sunny southwestern Florida. This is a great place to relax, entertain friends and family and enjoy the Florida lifestyle. The luxurious two story, 3,260 square foot home is furnished throughout in Florida / Mediterranean style with lots of room for visiting family and friends. It features a fully equipped kitchen, 4 spacious bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths, family room, an office and a utility room with washer and dryer. In addition, the home has a two-car garage and an oversized lanai with a large area for entertaining around the pool and spa.
Your rental includes a truly unique golf experience: a temporary membership in the outstanding Waterlefe Golf & River Club. Bordered by the Manatee River, the course is beautiful and challenging and has rapidly become the “must play” course of the Florida gulf region. Waterlefe was host to a qualifying round for the 2006 U.S. Open Championship. In addition to golf, the River Club features fine and casual dining, a fitness center and an expansive pool overlooking the river. Nature trails and walkways throughout the community afford opportunities to see fantastic Florida wild life including sand hill cranes, eagles, osprey, egrets, herons and turtles, not to mention the occasional alligator. The club also has a boat dock and freshwater fishing pier. Waterlefe has easy access to I-75; and is about a 20-35 minute drive minute to the Bradenton and Sarasota beaches, restaurants, shops and world class entertainment; a 45-60 minute drive to Tampa and St. Petersburg for more great dining and entertainment and a hour and half to two hour drive to Disney World and the Orlando attractions.
house rental amenities
In addition to the golf course, proshop, grill and driving range, the Waterlefe Golf and River Club offers a restaurant, pool and fitness room with classes in water aerobics, yoga, etc. and of course the community is surrounded by outstanding vistas of the Manatee River (with the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the elusive manatee).
activities and attractions in Bradenton Gulf Coast Central
The Bradenton and Sarasota areas provide a wide range of activities. The 35 miles of sandy seashore is ideal for beach lovers and includes Anna Maria Island, Longboat Key, Lido Beach, Siesta Key, Casey Key and Venice Beach. Bike paths run the 12-mile length of Longboat Key and continue through parts of Lido and Siesta Key. The sand on Siesta Key’s Crescent Beach is cool (and I really mean cool)! While other beaches may burn your feet on hot days, the beach at Siesta Key is cool due the sand’s 99% quartz content. Siesta Key has “the finest, whitest beach in the world” according to the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute and the Travel Channel named it the “Best Sand Beach in America” in 2003.
Shopping opportunities are abundant and include the rapidly expanding downtown Sarasota area with its cadre of shops, cafes, art galleries and antique stores. Be sure to take a tour of Sarasota and discover the hidden historic areas and artist colonies. St. Armand’s Circle (between Lido and Longboat Keys is also well known for its collection of high-end shops, galleries and restaurants. And that’s just the beginning! Check out Southside Village for a great gourmet market and gift shops blending in with some excellent restaurants.
Sarasota takes cultural activities seriously and has a wide array of options for visitors. Don’t miss:
- The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art (designated the State Art Museum of Florida). While there, be sure to tour Ringling’s 66acre bay front estate (Cà d’Zan) and the world renowned CircusMuseum
- Selby Gardens – especially great for orchid lovers
- The Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall (designed by the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation)
- The Asolo Center for the Performing Arts (great theater in a beautiful and historic setting)
- Mote Marine Laboratory (Aquarium and Boat Adventures)
- The South Florida Museum (Bishop Planetarium and Parker Manatee Aquarium)
And there’s boating, fishing and of course golf. Did you know that Sarasota is the historical home of Florida golf? In fact in 1902, Sarasota’s first mayor built what is believed to be the first golf course in Florida (a 2-hole course in the center of town). Today, golf is abundant in Sarasota, Bradenton and right across Florida! And, Waterlefe may be the best of the lot, so be sure to bring your clubs!
