The exterior of our home just went through a complete makeover.  New siding, new staircase and over 1500 square feet of decking expansion just completed! The photo showcasing the large white deck is the latest photo prior to completion.

Welcome to The White Picket Fence on Long Lake. We'd like to invite you to come and stay at our beautiful 2400 square foot home right on the water of beautiful Long Lake in Traverse City, Michigan. Enjoy your own private backyard with approximately 125 feet of private lake frontage and have full use of our private 120 foot dock for your water toys. The sandy bottom beach is perfect for children, and adults too! The water slopes ever so slightly. The end of the dock has a depth of about 3 1/2 feet.  Many of the homes on the lake are deceiving with regards to depth and drop off very quickly. You may also find they lack a beach area for children to play on. No matter where you rent, make sure to get good photos of the yard and water and ask lots of questions. Long Lake is an all sports lake covering approximately 3000 acres, or 5 miles long by 2 miles wide. Plenty of room to enjoy your boat, jet ski or kayaks! The property has two 2 person kayaks available for rent as well. Please ask about them if you are interested.

This home is strictly a no smoking, no pets home so please don't even ask.

The interior of our home is reminiscent of a cape cod style with shabby chic furnishings, beadboard in every room making it very light, bright and airy....just gorgeous!  Not your typical "up north" rental.

The home will sleep 8 people comfortably in beds and there are two twin size aerobeds complete with linens for use as well.

This is our personal home used for family gatherings and summer vacations so please know that we take great pride in it and hope that our visitors will too. This is our fourth year owning it and we decided to rent, not because we have to, but because it's ashame to let such a wonderful home with an incredible view and so much to offer, go unused for a great portion of the summer. From our many years of travelling and renting homes along the way, we have picked
up a few ideas here and there and are implementing them in our home to hopefully make your experience, one to remember. You'll arrive to a sparkling clean house that has been thoroughly cleaned using nothing but environmentally friendly cleaning products. Safe for you, safe for the environment. Each bedroom offers comfortable beds with beautiful and freshly laundered matching linens. Because we spend our summers in the home, we decorated it to live in and more importantly, feel like home. We paid special attention to detail making sure the linens all coordinated and all the towels are pure white, so you know they're clean. You'll find the kitchen fully stocked, some say moreso than their own homes. We supply basic household supplies like a fresh new dish sponge, eco-friendly dish soap, eco-friendly laundry essentials, 100% recycled paper towels and toilet paper. In the bathrooms, you'll even find a fresh bar of aromatherapy soap in the showers and pump soap at the sink. Truly, your home away from home!

There is so much to do here on the lake or in the general area. Maps and brochures will be left in the home for you to review. On the lake you'll enjoy fishing, boating, jet skiing, swimming, sunbathing or just plain old relaxing. Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park is always a favorite spot and don't forget to bring your camera. There's plenty of places to take a leisurely nature walk or
for the adventurous side of you, why not try a hot air balloon ride? Traverse City is only minutes away where you can hit downtown and meander through all the little shops or stop by the Grand Traverse Mall for some shopping, a bite to eat or even take in a movie. If you're travelling without kids, why not spend the day wine tasting or head over to the Casino. So much to do or just relax and read a book. It's your vacation, you decide.

SPRING RENTAL 2011

April 2nd - June 3rd

$450 per night w/two night minimum + *cleaning and security

SUMMER RENTAL 2010  - Weekly rentals only through summer        

June 4th - September 3rd (FREE Cleaning with week long rentals!  $200 value.)

$3,900 per week + security 

September 3rd - September 5th (Labor Day Weekend)

$1,200 + *cleaning and security

The rate for Labor Day weekend will be $1,200 for Saturday check-in at 4pm and Monday check-out of 8pm.

Kayak rental $150.00 per week for both kayaks. They are both two person
kayaks.

SECURITY AND CLEANING DEPOSITS

In order to secure your dates, a deposit equal to half of the rental rate is required to be submitted with a completed contract. Remainder of balance is due 14 days prior to check-in.

Security (Damage) deposit - $1,000 (refundable) is due 14 days prior to check-in. Damage deposit will be mailed back within 7 days.

Cleaning Deposit - $200 (non-refundable) is due 14 days prior to check-in. *Cleaning Deposit is applicable to less than week long rentals only.

Weekly rental runs Saturday to Saturday unless otherwise specified. Check-in is 4pm and check out is 11am.

All payments to be made by Personal, Business or Cashiers Check. Money Orders and Credit Cards not accepted.
