Wow, wow, wow, every detail is in place from the ice chest to the antlers, this is the true frontier cozy cottage. As we drove up the winding driveway, enjoying the views, we were amazed by the simple clearing where this log cabin sits peacefully alone as if it’s been there for 100 years. The rustic charm is nicely offset with modern amenities in the kitchen with a full-size refrigerator, oven and microwave, cooking is easy. On the warm evenings, dining on the front porch was such a treat and occasionally deer would stroll thru on their way to the lake. The selection of boats we shared with one other cabin was amazing…canoe, kayak or rowboat, a bit of a walk or short drive from the cabin. It is well worth taking advantage as the views from the lake are amazing and were never saw anyone else out there. It’s was great to be in such a safe haven where the kids can run, the neighbors are friendly and the owners were marvelous. As we share our pictures and stories with friends, I know several have you and your cabins at Lake Williams scheduled for their next family getaway. Thank you Berta and Tom for a remarkable stay.

Owners response: You did such a great job of describing our property. Thanks so much for letting other guests see the cabin and lake through your eyes! Roberta and Tom

The property was beautiful and Tom and Roberta were wonderful to work with. The privacy of the cabin was a very welcome change compared to conventional accomidations - especially the limited cell service! I would recommend this property to any couple, couples or families that need want a wonderful Idaho get away! Thank you again.

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet-friendly, sight seeing, romantic getaway

Owners response: We are always happy to hear that our guests loved the cabin and our beautiful mountain/lake setting as much as we do! Thank you so much for renting our cabin, and please keep us in mind for future get-aways.

Our Trip from Washingotn State

I have to say this was one charming decorated and romantic cabin and full of privacy...No one is around you!

In the early mornings we had deer in the front, so you might get lucky and see one and we had several friendly chipmunks all the time. At night you can see all the stars…what a sight to see….

The cabin if really comfortable for 4 but it does have a sofa sleeper to fit two more but four is just right I think (kids perfect in the loft). The cabin description is accurate but do arrive before dark due to the mountain edge road, bring your camera. We drove our car with no problems just to let you know and the roads were well maintained. The cabin has a big driveway to turn around in, so parking is nice. Lake is 1/3 mile away…we drove to it but the kids walked sometimes. The kids had a ball with the kayaks on the lake and I tried out the roll boat…it was fun.

Things we did or need to know:

Relaxing: that was the main goal at the cabin but…

We went to Gold bug Hot Springs, the hike is 3 + miles and semi tough at the beginning and end only, so bring plenty of water and leave early in am. During the hot-hot hike…we saw a black bear 20 yards away from us, which was sort of scary in a way, but the bear ran away and a fully naked man passed by us on the trail…so kids beware…don’t worry the shock will be gone in a few minutes.

Sacagawea center is a must see and listen to the historian tell you all about the Lewis & Clark expedition.

Salmon River is so beautiful and cold. We went site seeing and hit the antique stores.

I highly recommend to eat lunch or dinner at the Junkyard Bristo café in the city of salmon… excellent food…fit for a ‘king”.

We don’t recommend breakfast at the ‘Coffee Shop” on your way back home unless you have a strong taste for burnt grease.

Salmon does have a big grocery store to buy food at. If you need liquored they have that also one block from the grocery store.

Roberta & Tom are very kind and down to earth. Roberta I want to thank you for contacting me that fast and our arrangement work out perfectly. Tom thanks for the cold orange drink by the way… See you all soon….

The Johnson’s.....:)

Recommended for: adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sight seeing, tourists without a car, romantic getaway

Owners response: We are thrilled that you had such a great time. You have a great sense of adventure! You fully took advantage of all the unique and wonderful activities that our area has to offer. I have never seen more beautiful starry nights than at Williams Lake. I'm glad you had the privacy you were looking forward to, that you enjoyed our boats, and learned about Lewis and Clark in Salmon. Take care and come back soon! Roberta and Tom Thompson
