Vacation Rental Description

The Manager's House at Hale Pohaku is a fully renovated authentic 
plantation home built in the 1950s.  It can be rented either as a 4 
bedroom/2 bath home, or as a 5 Bedroom, 3 bath property. 
 
Ocean views abound from the living room and screened in lanai.  
 
The kitchen includes a gas range, cookware, plates and 
utensils, and a full-sized dishwasher. We've done our best to provide 
you with just about every appliance you could need, including a 
thermal carafe coffee maker, coffee bean grinder, blender, hand mixer, 
iron (and ironing board) and hair dryer.  Adjacent to the kitchen is 
the full-sized washer and dryer. 
 
All of the queen bedrooms feature beautiful pineapple beds.  Two of 
them include en suite bathrooms.  The two twin bedrooms each contain 
two beds that can easily be converted to a single, king bed.   
 
One bathroom includes a tiled tub/shower combination, while the other 
two have shower stalls.  All shower areas feature handheld attachments. 
 
 
The floors of this authentic fully-renovated plantation home are the 
original beautifully well kept hardwood planks. The banquet style 
dining room seats eight, while the kitchen features both a large 
breakfast bar and another table and chair seating for four. An 
additional dining area on the screened lanai, next to the large 
outdoor barbeque grill, allows you to enjoy your dinner al fresco, 
while taking in the glorious Poipu sunset.  
 
 
There are lots of windows throughout letting in the gentle trade winds 
that will keep you comfortable year round. All rooms feature ceiling fans. 
 
All our guests will be greeted upon arrival with bottled water, Hawaii 
coffee and tea, for your first morning's breakfast.  In addition, we 
supply the bathrooms with shampoo, conditioner, liquid soap and shower 
gel.

Vacation Rental Amenities

Hale Pohaku, with our private swimming pool, large grassy yard and 
lush tropical landscaping, is an ideal holiday choice for family 
reunions, weddings, a Kauai honeymoon or a family vacation.  We're 
only a one-to-two minute walk from the beach and all the modern 
benefits of resort living, but located on an out-of-the-way cul-de-sac 
that was built in the 1950s.  Once you step off the road and into our 
fenced grounds,it's almost as if you've traveled back to the days when 
life was slow and peaceful, and Poipu was still relatively undiscovered. 
 
The Manager's Home is one of four units on our half-acre property.  
Two of the others are original 1940s plantation 2 bedroom/1 bath 
cottages, and the third is a similar cottage built more recently.  The 
units can be rented individually or all together, accommodating up to 
26 people. 
 
We're a wonderful place for families with children. The pool is a 
uniform depth, so there's no worrying about stepping off "into the 
deep end." And we're only a five minute walk from "Baby Beach", a 
protected inlet that's so calm and shallow that local residents as 
well as tourists bring infants and children of all ages. 
 
We can provide high chairs and cribs on a first come, first served basis. 
 
We're happy to provide our guests with driving directions to the 
nearest grocery stores,tips on where to shop for staples, and 
information on where to rent any type of baby equipment you might need 
that we can't already provide.

Activities and Attractions

Poipu Beach, only a few seconds' walk from Hale Pohaku, is a set of 
half moon shaped small bays that offer great fishing, snorkeling, 
swimming, wading and surfing. There are several barbeque areas with 
picnic tables, showers and restrooms, and plenty of room to play in 
Poipu Beach Park. Life guards are on duty and there is small bay where 
children can safely play and swim. Across the street from the park is 
a package store and Deli, gift shop, and a seafood restaurant up stairs.

Vacation Rental Rates

The Manager's Home can be rented as a 4 bedroom/2 bath home, or as a 5 
bedroom/3 bath home. 
 
Rates as a 4 bedroom/2 bath home(maximum 8 guests): 
 
    $500 per night with a 7 night minimum stay 
 
    $525 per night for 2 to six nights 
 
    Cleaning fee:  $250 
 
Rates as a 5 bedroom/3 bath home (maximum 10 guests): 
 
    $600 per night with a 7 night minimum stay 
 
    $625 per night for 2 to six nights 
 
    Cleaning fee:  $325 
 
Security deposit (refundable after departure): $100 
 
 
Rates are subject to change without notice and exclude Hawaii state 
tax of 11.41%.
