Friendship/Waldoboro is situated in mid-coast Maine, 15 miles south of Rockland, 66 miles northeast
of Portland and 28 miles southeast of Augusta.
This expansive year-round oceanfront guest house on Back Cove (off the Waldoboro/Friendship coast)
has sweeping views of Muscongus Bay and the islands, a private pier, and large decks. There is a
deep-water mooring in front of the pier for your sailboat. The house boasts six spacious bedrooms
and four baths. There are 4500 square feet and three levels of living space/bedrooms/baths to give
everyone some privacy. Don't you hate to be crowded like a sardine on your "vacation"?
The first floor master bedroom has panoramic views of the sea, queen size bed, large closets, and a
small sitting area. A Second bedroom on the first floor has a double bed, and two windows
overlooking the pine forests. There is a full bath with sunny windows, European bidet, fully
equipped kitchen, large glass fronted living room with wood burning stove, a separate study and
another half-bath off the kitchen.
A Private Master Bedroom suite consisting of bedroom, living area and stone fireplace is situated
upstairs over the garage. The living area opens onto a private balcony facing the ocean. Queen size
bed, full bath with steam shower and restful Jacuzzi tub. Enjoy a cocktail from the wet bar, and
converse in cozy couches and down chairs in front of the stone fireplace with a blazing fire.
On the lower level, you will find ceramic tiled floors and sliding French doors leading out to the
beach and pier. There are two bedrooms with double hung windows framing beautiful views of the sea,
one with a full-sized beds, and the other with a queen-sized bed. A third bedroom has two twin beds
and pine paneled walls. There is a full bath, and a large den for watching TV, DVD, reading, or
playing board games on this level.
You have found it all: A restful, waterfront Maine vacation with a touch of luxury. All bedrooms are
outfitted with very comfortable mattresses (honest), down pillows and comforters, and quilted
bedspreads. Oriental rugs, hand hooked rugs and Maine antiques are found throughout the home. We
provide all linens and towels, including beach towels, dish towels, even cloth napkins for dinner.
The windows are operable so you can catch the ocean breezes inside, or while relaxing on the
spacious
deck overlooking the sea. There are oak hardwood floors throughout, with ceiling fans in most rooms.

Kayak out to the islands, collect mussels and
periwinkles from the beach, Dig for clams at low tide, Paint a sea scape en-plein-air (an easel and
wooden palette await you). Read a novel (or write one) on the spacious deck in comfortable patio
furniture. You'll wake to the sound of the local lobster men who with their colourful boats dot the
harbour every morning. Row out to them and buy lobster fresh from the traps. There is a deep
lobster
pot in the cupboard for you to steam them up in. With melted butter and fresh squeezed lemon juice,
lobster simply doesn’t get any better. At sunset, enjoy cocktails on the pier while you watch the
seals cavort and the sailboats head for their moorings.
Steamed Periwinkles from my childhood in New England
Ingredients:
1/2 c. salted water
1/4 tsp. thyme
1-3 cloves garlic, mashed
1/2 c. vegetable bouillon or dry white wine
4 dozen well-scrubbed periwinkles
4 tbsp. butter
1 lemon, cut into wedges
Directions:
Rinse the periwinkles thoroughly; put all ingredients in pot and bring to a boil; add periwinkles
and
steam until they can be easily extracted from the shell, about 4 minutes. Serve on your best tea
china with hat pins, lemon wedges and melted butter.

peace and tranquility of the setting. We have set the boundaries for you, so that you can tell those
in-laws to go get their own vacation house. We value our vacations, and we are sure that you do

Collect mussels and periwinkles for a delicious dinner, enjoy fresh lobster dinners, sail on the local sloops for hire, go whale watching, deep sea fishing, kayaking, fishing, and swimming. Within a short drive you will find Art Galleries, Antique shops, excellent restaurants, and gift stores. Visit the quaint New England towns of Wiscasset, Camden, Booth Bay Harbor or Rockland (the home of the Farnsworth musuem and American artist, Andrew Wyeth. Drive 2.5 hours north to Arcadia National Park in Bar Harbor and the famous ocean loop. Serious artists and birders alike may want to visit Monhegan Island for a day trip. The ferry to the island is 20 minutes from the house. Vacation Rental RatesSeason (July-August) $1750.00/week Rental period is Saturday 3pm - Saturday 10 am plus: 7% Maine state lodging tax, $75.00 cleaning fee No early check ins or late checkouts without prior written permission. Off Season(October - May) $1,250.00/week Saturday - Saturday Shoulder Months (June and September) $1450.00/week Saturday - Saturday plus: 7% Maine state lodging tax, $75.00 cleaning fee. A 50% deposit is due to reserve your dates with the remainder due no later than 30 days prior to occupancy. Discount for multiple weeks. Many of our returning guests inquire about staying for a month, or longer. Please ask us about our Monthly Discounts. One week minimum stay.
