vacation stay

quinton (La quinta,CA, USA)
Review submitted: August 28, 2011   Date of arrival: August 13, 2011

We stayed for a week in August. My wife and myself plus my 4 children. We also brought a friend of the kids along. Plenty of place although wrt to the sleeping arrangements, my twins (11ys) had to share a queen bed. This was not a problem for us.So bear in mind that, althiough it sleeps 8 it does involve 2 queen beds (sharing). Great location in that it is 20 miles (realistically 40 minutes) to the Yosemetie gate and realistically 1 1/2 hours to the central Yosmetie village. So this was great. Also only 45 mins to Jamestown. The lake was beutiful and relaxing. Plenty for all to do and 2 1/2 miles to the main beach (5 mins by car), about 1/2 mile to a smaller beach. Just walk 2 mins to the fishing pier. Can swim, tan, rent kayaks, yachts, motor boats etc. When I saw the pics of the deer in the garden I thought this was a rrae event...not so. Was sitting outside in the evening having a BBQ and the deer walked right passed us (3 feet)..little shy but definitely not afraid. very relaxing place to stay but within reach of plenty to do. The nearrby town though seems to have an affinity for pizza. Too many Pizza joints, not enough variety of other take outs for kids and family. The unit looks a little tired with some of the furniture looking well worn, but then if you are looking for 5 star you are not looking at VRBO. Well stocked kitchen, games, TV and extras are a nice touch. Would recommend. Great value for the money.

Recommended for: adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers, sight seeing

Thank you for a great place to stay.

We had heat (91 degrees when we arrived) and cold (44 degrees at nights) to a spectacular lightening display and lots of rain. We survived it all very comfortably. We especially loved the deer that visit your backyard every morning. Gabriel (8 years old) stood and watched them through the glass door and they watched him. Gabriel says he liked all your games "but some pieces are missing."
Thank you again. We would definitely stay again and recommend it to others.

Thank you, Thank you so much. We can't even describe in words how much we loved your place. Our first impression by entering the house was - "Oh, this is such a cozy and warm looking place." Everything was perfect - the kitchen, our rooms and especially the deck where we spent our leisure time - very comfortable and beautiful!!!
We thought that we could really rest and relax in your house.
And we fell in love with the surroundings - the lake, trees, National Park (amazing), fresh air, and playground for our daughter - Sophie.
We had a wonderful two weeks here in your cabin.
We'll be back!!!
