Vacation Rental Description

Enjoy our treehouse in the dunes.  Very cozy mid-century chalet-
style home...great room with a fabulous stone fireplace in the 
center, pecky cyprus paneling...Cathedral ceiling all set snug as a 
bug high in the tree canopy.  Perfect seclusion on a very large long 
wooded lot.  Floor to ceiling north windows glow in the late 
afternoon.  Absolutely wonderful during the fall.  Mother nature is 
all around in Beverly Shores, located in the heart of the Indiana 
Dunes National Lakeshore. We don't have a lake view.  The photo was 
taken on the beach, to show how beautiful our sunsets are.     

Vacation Rental Amenities

2 BR fully furnished with linens/bedding, 1 BR (full size bed) and 
full bath up, 1 BR (full size bed) and full bath down.  Practically 
all you need is your clothes and food.

Exposed beams with ceiling fans, eat at bar/counter next to kitchen, 
long harvest table w/eight hickory chairs for full dining. Fully 
equipped kitchen: coffeemaker, cappuccino machine, pots, pans, many 
small appliances and microwave (no dishwasher).  TV in each bedroom, 
21 inch TV/dvd with home theatre in great Room (no cable), and XM Radio.
There are movies to watch and board games for a rainy day.

Each bedroom has privacy and double bed. Extra sleeping in open upper 
walk around with 2 full sized futons, and 1 foldout single futon (no 
sofabed).  Upper outside balcony on the front and back of house, 
extra large main floor deck wraps around house on the edge of dune.  
Sit in one of the old rocking chairs and watch the birds.  During the 
quiet of night, hear the frogs in the park pond...on a windy night 
hear Lake Michigan roar.  

Deck has a full size Weber charcoal grill, picnic table, patio 
furniture, and a two person sauna.  Washer and dryer up.  Central 
heat and air conditioning. Wood burning stove with glass front door 
set into fireplace hearth. We also provide a single beach parking 
pass.  This will authorize one vehicle access to the limited permit-
only parking along the beach during your stay.
  

Activities and Attractions

Less than a two block walk to Lake Michigan and great sunsets. We 
are just across the road from the only City Park.  Fountain is a 
spring-fed pond, and park includes tennis court, 1/2 basketball 
court, grills, and children's play area.  House sets high above park 
for privacy.

South Shore train tracks just 1 mile from house.  Easy on and 
off for a quick trip to Chicago for a Broadway quality show, dining, 
the World Famous Field Museum of Natural History, Museum of Science 
and Industry, Art Institute, and Shedd Aquarium.
  
Beverly Shores is located within the 20,000 acre National Lakeshore 
and borders the Indiana Dunes State Park.  National Lakeshore 
Visitor's Center one mile, and state park entrance approximately two 
miles.  We are 5 miles directly west of Michigan City, the Marina, 
Michigan City Zoo, Outlet Mall, and Blue Chip Casino, great food 
and shopping.

Vacation Rental Rates

Rates for 2008

All rentals require a $500.00 refundable security deposit.

$895.00/week for one to three week rentals peak season in July and 
August (thru Labor Day weekend)

$815.00/week for one to three week rentals in June (including 
Memorial Day weekend)

$735.00/week for one to three week rentals all other non peak months
(not including Memorial Day weekend)


Short stay rate:  June only: $125.00/night with a $50.00 cleaning fee
                  Sept- May: $108.00/night with a $50.00 cleaning fee
                  (winter bookings weather contingent) 

Will only book short stays in July and August after May 15.  Otherwise only
one week and over bookings available.

Cancellations after May 1st will be nonrefundable.  All weekly 
rentals are based on a 7 day/6 night stay. 

Security deposit is required. There is no cleaning fee on a week or more stay.

50% of rental rate payable in advance to hold date.
Last minute reservations available with money order by priority mail.

Two four legged pets are allowed.  Fish, gerbils, hamsters, and birds also
welcome.  It is a family trip afterall.  A five by fifteen (8 foot tall) 
outdoor kennel is next to the house so your pet can enjoy mother nature without 
any risk.

We accept checks and money orders.  The balance due on the rental, 
and all deposits must be paid a minimum of 20 days prior to the 
rental date.   

I am booking our rentals in Key Largo, Florida, Hannibal, Missouri, and Indiana Dunes/National 
Lakeshore on Lake Michigan.
