This property is a well maintained 14 X 52 mobile home in a nicely
secluded but not entirely isolated area within 5 miles of Emerald Isle, North Carolina. Keep in mind that it is not a giant beach house with five or six bedrooms so the maximum occupancy should be no more than 6 people at one time, preferably 4.
Full kitchen, including microwave and dishwasher. Dishes, pans and silverware on site. Coffee maker. Toaster.
One bath.
Central heat and air conditioning.
There is one completely furnished bedroom with a queen size bed. A smaller bedroom has a futon with an extra mattress that can potentially sleep two people.
There is a queen size sleeper sofa in the living room. A cot is available if there are older kids who don't sleep in the same bed. It is not practical for more than 6 people to try to stay overnight here. Daytime visitors are fine but please don't try to sneak in more people than you pay for the night because we will have to ask everyone to leave.
At present, there is no washer or dryer. We will furnish enough sheets and towels for one week. You must furnish your own beach towels and beach chairs.
People staying for more than one week will be responsible for replacing their own paper goods and trash bags as well as taking their own sheets and towels to the laundromat if you want them washed during your stay. However, there are cleaning supplies available and all renters, regardless of the length of their stay, are expected to leave the place reasonably clean when they vacate. For example: vacuum, wipe down the counters, take out your trash, take any food that might spoil out of the refrigerator, etc.
State law requires that plastic bottles be recycled so please don't put them in with regular trash for us to sort back out. However, you may put plastic, aluminum and glass in the recycle container and we will sort that.
house rental amenities
If you love the country and the beach, come stay with us. This particular property is located approximately 4 miles from Emerald Isle, 6 miles from Swansboro, and 12 miles from Morehead City, NC.
Dishes, utensils and pans are furnished. Paper towels, trash bags and toilet tissue are provided in reasonable quantities. All you need to bring are your groceries, your clothes and your cell phone if you want telephone service. Please note that some people with cell phones have complained that their cell phones don't work well inside the house. Most will work fine outside or near the windows or doors, though.
The home has television recently connected to a digital receiver box and it seems to be doing fine. There is an antenna attached to the house adjusted to pick up local stations as well as some not so local stations. Cable is not available out here.
Our pet policy is stated along with the rental terms.
This is a non-smoking unit. If you smoke, do it outside and pick up your debris.
Walgreen's, Blockbuster Video and Lowe's Grocery and several fast food restaurants are a few miles west in Cape Carteret and Swansboro . Wal Mart and dozens of other shopping facilities and restaurants are 12 miles east in Morehead City or 20 miles west in Jacksonville.
There are numerous doctors, hospital and emergency medical facilities within 25 miles in either direction-- Jacksonville and Morehead City.
Dominos Pizza and China Garden deliver from Cedar Point. Gas stations and convenience stores are located at intervals all along Hwy 24 in either direction.
Tournament fishermen or boaters will have plenty of room to park
their boat trailer here. However, all vehicles must be parked only in the front yard. No vehicle of any description may ever be driven or parked in the back yard because of the septic and water lines.
Campers tired of staying in a camping trailer or a tent have a safe place with
room to park their trailers and more space to relax and even set up a tent to dry it out if you want to. For families who vacation together, one family could potentially rent our trailer and a family with a camper could park in the yard instead of a park for a nominal fee. Ask for rates. Look at the photo to get an idea how large the yard actually is.
Camp LeJeune and Cherry Point are close by, making this a convenient temporary rental for newly transferred military men and women as well as families visiting their service men and women. We honor and respect our military as well as their families and we are proud to have you stay with us.
People wintering near the coast who wish to sample the area will find this to
be a very convenient location. Look for exceptionally low rates from Mid September to Mid April.
Once in awhile, an entire month may be free. When you consider a furnished place with utilities, our low monthly rate is exceptional we prefer not to rent for more than 28 consecutive days.
Fall and spring are wonderful times to come to this area so people
who like to vacation during those times would find it a satisfying experience as well. Check for low fall and winter vacation rates.
Everyone who has stayed so far has enjoyed the peace and quiet most of all.
activities and attractions in Emerald Isle Atlantic Coast
Bogue Banks is a 26 mile island with the town of Emerald Isle on the
west end and the town of Atlantic Beach on the east end with bridges to the mainland near each end. Salter Path, Indian Beach and Pine Knoll Shores are also towns on the island. Swansboro, Cedar Point, Cape Carteret, Morehead
City, Beaufort, Newport, Havelock and Jacksonville are nearby towns on the mainland. As mentioned, the location is convenient to Camp LeJeune and Cherry Point.
Some of the nicest public beach access is also some of the closest. However, there are at least a dozen public beach accesses up and down the island as well as on the mainland.
Miniature golf , 18-hole golf courses, go carts, bumper boats, water slide, kayak rentals, fishing charters, fishing piers, surf fishing (with a fishing license) are all close by. There are also plenty of annual festivals and events to attend throughout the summer months in the towns and villages nearby. Some activities go on year round since the climate is mild here in winter. In addition, there is a movie theatre in Emerald Isle and a very nice bowling alley and arcade at Mac Daddy's in Cape Carteret.

Our Pet Policy: non-refundable pet deposit for daily, week-end, or weekly renters is $20 per pet for the entire stay, if we agree to allow your pet. Only dogs or cats that are house trained will be allowed. All pets (including cats) must be on a leash when outside, even if you are with them. Don't just bring along pets and expect us to let them stay. Ask first. We usually have a pet crate available for smaller animals since some pets feel safer confined when you go places pets can't go. You can reserve it in advance or ask when you arrive. We love animals and want them to be comfortable, too.
Pet owners will be responsible for cleaning up after their animals. Of course, any "accidents" a pet may have inside, including vomiting, are the owner's responsibility to clean up. There is carpet cleaner under the sink. Dog feces should be picked up from the yard unless it is so far away from the house and driveway that nobody is likely to step in it.
People who travel with cats must provide their own litter boxes which they must clean up and take with them when they leave. The contents of the box may be disposed of at the edge of the back woods.
Pets coming with monthly renters will be considered with $50 per pet non-refundable deposit for the entire stay and the same rules about leashes and cleaning up apply.
ABSOLUTELY NO monkeys, snakes, iguanas or other exotic pets. Sorry no pit bulls, rottweilers, dalmations, chows or other large and potentially dangerous dogs will be allowed to stay. If you have a pet who likes to chew up furniture while you are away, bring a creat and confine them while you are out. You may not leave a pet tied outside while you are gone for any reason at any time of year. I consider that animal cruelty. You can tie tiyr dog to the porch while you are present if they like to be outside and you can't be with them every second, though.

Sorry, no credit or debit cards. We can accept Pay Pal on line with a 5% additional charge if you pay several days in advance of your stay. Cash payment from short notice guests expected upon arrival and you will need to phone ahead to get instructions about where to get the key. If you reserve more than a month ahead, a deposit of at least $100 may be required. If you ask to reserve for an extended period, please be prepared to pay 1/2 of the total bill in advance. The remainder will be due in cash upon arrival.
Notice to fall and winter renters: If you want to stay in a hotel room on the beach, check out the prices on the beach BEFORE you make a reservation with us. We are not on the beach and we don't profess to be. Our rates will always be lower but it is no secret that hotel rates on the island are lower in winter than in summer and rooms are more likely to be available. However, if you can prove to me that you can rent comparable space on the beach for equal to or less money, I'll definitely lower my rate. Here, you are renting a whole residence, not one room.
Deposits should be considered non-refundable but we are not unreasonable -- some circumstances are unavoidable. For example, in the event that you pay for a vacation and a hurricane is predicted to hit here, we will alert you promptly and send your refund as soon as we can safely get to the post office.
Same day notice is OK with cash payment upon arrival if the unit is available. However, you will need to call between the hours of 8 AM and 9 PM to reserve. Click on the calendar icon and see if the dates you want are available.
You will be given specific directions and instructions about picking up the key as your date to arrive approaches. You may be asked for an estimated time of arrival if we have plans that we need to work around. We do understand that sometimes things happen to cause delays in vacationers' plans. However, if you don't communicate with us, no reservation will be guaranteed for more than 12 hours past your estimated time of arrival. Although we can't sit home all day waiting for people who are going to be much later than expected, we can easily and happily make an alternate plans for you to obtain keys to accomodate guests who communicate with us. Make sure you bring our phone number along in case you are delayed.
We strongly prefer that reservations be made on line, but we will always take reservations over the phone. Please be considerate and call between the hours of 8 AM and 9 PM. Please don't expect me to call you to make arrangements with you unless it is to return a message on our answering machine because we were out when you tried to contact us. If you inquire by e-mail, I will reply via e-mail within 12 hours of the time I receive your message but Vacationrentals.com doesn't always relay the messages immediately. Please check your junk mail box if you don't receive our reply within 12 hours because we reply to all inquiries, even if we don't have an availability. I generally post every reservation I receive, even tentative ones, within minutes but they may take up to an hour to appear on the calendar.
You have our word that we will do everything we can to make your stay as comfortable as possible. We appreciate your business and hope to establish even more repeat business than we already have.
