A true early Tahoe home offering a unique experience blending tradition with luxurious amenities, at the lake's edge on spacious forested grounds far from the road. Enjoy 120 feet of private beach, lakeside terraces with chaises, and panoramic sunrise to sunset views across Lake Tahoe.
Live the early Tahoe glory days--in the original 1910 boathouse carefully updated to modern standards, with a tasteful mix of fresh furnishings, vintage details, and neat Tahoe antiques. A huge luxury hot tub seats 8. The wraparound deck on the upper level of the home offers a spectacular dining and lounging area above the shoreline. Appropriate for discerning guests who appreciate historic character and the exquisite setting, this house is not appropriate for groups who are planning to "party hearty". Great for family gatherings, with more capacity in the summer season when the cabins are in use. Weddings are accepted.
A grand old outdoor stone fireplace and patio, level lakeside lawn and lovely gardens are spread out among the tall trees. A buoy is included. Gas and charcoal grills are on the deck, and tableware and glassware are supplied for entertaining 18 in Tahoe style.
Spacious yet cozy, the boathouse has been expanded to include several view filled living areas and a large country kitchen and the wraparound deck on the upper level, and three bedrooms plus apartment suite on the lower level. Two rustic cabins are included in summer rentals. The long paved driveway has plenty of parking, and is accessed via a quiet lane off the main road. House is completely equipped for a relaxed stay--free wireless DSL, two satellite TV's, stereos, complete kitchen supplies, luxury down bedding, towels and robes.
Pine paneling is on all walls and ceilings, and the house has been fully updated with thermal pane windows, complete insulation, natural gas hydronic heat, tasty local well water. Wood, stone and newly carpeted floors. Four antique wood stoves. All beds have firm mattresses, down pillows and duvets, and high quality 100% cotton designer sheets.
Bedrooms: Sleep up to 10 in winter and 16 in summer. Queen sleepers hold 4 more.
1. Lakeside bedroom with cal-king bed opens to shore 10 feet away.
2. Second has queen bed and window seat.
3. Children's room has a bunkbed and two curtained youth captains beds.
4. Upstairs den has queen sleeper sofa.
5. Apartment bedroom: Available to our renters only is the owner's private suite with entrance through house and from outside, bedroom with queen bed, bathroom, kitchen, and lakeside living room with queen sleeper sofa.
6. Summer cabin with 2 bunkbeds, sleeps 4 singles. No bathroom.
7. Summer cabin with queen bed, sleeps 2. Half-bath.
3 bathrooms: full bath with separate tub & shower upstairs, one with shower in downstairs bedroom wing, one with shower in apartment bedroom.
Summer 2012 bookings are now being accepted with one week minimums at this year's rate of $9,500 per week. Weeks run from Thursday to Thursday to accommodate weddings.
Dogs accepted by prior approval only. Sorry, no cats.

Close by is a country market with great deli and wine selection--
you'll love walking to the store. Get a picnic at the deli, where you
can order big delicious sandwiches that have been written up in the NY Times.
Leave the car--you can walk through quaint Tahoma to the pizzeria,
coffee bar, post office, video shop, kayak rentals, and restaurants.
Snowboard and ski at Homewood Mountain Resort just one mile away. Cross country ski at the Olympic trail through nearby Sugar Pine Park.
Walk to Sugar Pine Point State Park with its tennis courts, sandy
beach, and grand old mansion. Take a short drive to Emerald Bay State
Park, Bliss Beach, the National forest, and Meeks Bay and Blackwood
Canyon entrances to the Desolation Wilderness.
Bike ride on the meandering paved bike path which makes its way from
Sugar Pine Point to Tahoe City, and on down the Truckee River all the
way to Squaw Valley. Rent kayaks and launch them from the boat ramp. Kids can ride bikes on our quiet lane well away from the main road and play hide and seek in our forest. They love feeding the wild geese from the boat ramp and having crawdad races down the ramp.
Bask in the panoramic views of Lake Tahoe. Swim and sun at our own
beach. Water ski on one of Tahoe's most tranquil bays, and then warm up in the hot tub. Enjoy a massage after your soak. In the evening, roast marshmallows at the great stone fireplace and sing songs around the fire. A perfect Tahoe day!

Winter November 1-December 18, January 2-April 15: $750 night, $4,500 week, 3 night minimum. 4 bedrooms, 2 dens. Summer cabins closed and not available. 10 people is the recommended occupancy in winter. Maximum: 12
Early Spring: April 16 to May 25: $6,500 per week. $1,100 per night. 3 night minimum. Weekends may not be split: Friday, Saturday and Sunday must be booked together.
Spring: May 26 to June 13: 4 night minimum. $1,500 night. Weekends may not be split: Friday, Saturday and Sunday must be booked together. $8,000 week.
Peak Summer: June 14 to September 7. $9,500 wk. 1 week min. Weeks run from Thursday arrival to Thursday exit to accommodate weddings and avoid traffic on Fridays.
Fall: September 8 to October 31: 4 night minimum. $1,500 night. Weekends may not be split: Friday, Saturday and Sunday must be booked together. $8,000 week.
Shorter infill bookings will be accepted for openings in the schedule.
Spring/Summer/Fall Accommodations include House, Apartment Suite and two Summer Cabins. The House and Apartment Suite sleep 10 in beds, with up to 4 more in sleep sofas. The Summer Cabins sleep 6. 16 people is the recommended total occupancy. Maximum occupancy is 20.

Deposit of 1/2 rent due in 7 days from verbal reservation. Full payment due 60 days prior to occupancy.
Security Deposit $2,000.
Exit clean per rental: $350 house, plus $150/wk apt., $150 cabins.
10% Placer County, CA Occupancy Tax on rent and cleaning.
References may be requested.
Payment by check or money order.
