Vacation Rental Description

Beds hold up to 16 in summer or up to 10 in winter, plus 2 pull-out
sofas sleep 4 more. Non-peak flexible rates to accommodate large or
small groups. 

This special property offers a unique experience blending luxury with 
tradition.  The 1910 Tahoma Boathouse is a true retreat on the West 
Shore of Lake Tahoe, on quiet spacious forested grounds blocks from 
the road. Enjoy 120 feet of private sand beach, the lakeside terrace 
with chaises, and panoramic sunrise to sunset views across Lake Tahoe!

Live the early Tahoe glory days--in the original 1910 boathouse 
carefully updated to modern standards, with a tasteful mix of fresh 
comfy furnishings, vintage details, and neat early Tahoe antiques. A 
huge luxury hot tub seats 8, and is close to the lake. A wraparound 
deck on the upper level of the home offers a spectacular dining and 
lounging area above the shoreline. Appropriate for discerning guests 
who appreciate historic character, this house is not appropriate for 
party groups.  It is great for family gatherings, offering more 
capacity in the high season when the summer cabins are in use. 

A grand old outdoor stone fireplace and patio, level lakeside lawn 
and lovely gardens are spread out among the tall trees. A buoy right 
in front of the house is for our guests, and use of a pier is 
available. Gas and charcoal grills are on the deck.  China and 
tableware and wine glasses are supplied for entertaining 18 in Tahoe 
style.

Spacious yet cozy, the boathouse has been expanded to include several 
view-filled living areas and a large country kitchen and wrap-around 
deck on the upper level, and three bedrooms plus one bedroom 
apartment on the lower level. Two rustic cabins are included in 
summer rentals. The long paved driveway offers plenty of parking, and 
the house is accessed via a quiet lane off the main road. 

The house is completely equipped for a relaxed stay--from new TV's 
and stereos to kitchen supplies to luxury bedding, towels and robes. 
Pine paneling is on all walls and ceilings, and the house has been 
fully updated with thermal pane windows, complete insulation, natural 
gas hydronic heat, and tasty local well water. Wood, stone and newly
carpeted floors.  Four antique wood stoves add to the cozy charm. Two
phone lines and satellite TV hook-ups bring the 21st century to our

All beds have firm mattresses, down pillows and duvets and high 
quality 100% cotton designer sheets. 

Bedrooms:  
1. Lakeside with cal-king bed opens to shore ten feet away. 
2. Second has queen bed and window seat. 
3. Children's room has one bunkbed and two curtained youth captain 
bunks 5 ft. long, sleeps 4 children.  Monkey bars run above the 
captain beds.
4. Upstairs den has queen sleeper sofa. 
5. Apartment bedroom:  Available to our renters only is the owner's 
private suite with entrance through house and from outside, bedroom 
with queen bed, bathroom, kitchen, and lakeside living room with 
queen sleeper sofa.
7. Apartment living room:  Queen sleeper sofa, kitchen, outside 
entrance and deck.
8. Summer cabin with two bunkbeds, sleeps 4 singles. 
9. Summer cabin with double bed, sleeps 2. 
(no bathrooms in summer cabins)
 
3 bathrooms: full bath with separate tub & shower upstairs, one with 
shower in downstairs bedroom wing, one with shower in apartment 
bedroom. 

Remarks from our guests:

--We love your place! It was our first time in Tahoe and this 
property really made it a memorable stay. Not only the charm and 
comfort of your home, but the excellent location and outdoor 
facilities. 

--We spent many luxurious hours in the hot tub and enjoyed the 
lakefront and stone fireplace so much! We had some people over that 
come to Tahoe fairly regularly and they want to stay here the next 
time they come. Thanks for all of your help with our plans and for 
the memories!

stocked with anything that we needed...My daughter's highlight was 
learning to do the monkey bars (above the captain's beds) all by 
herself...It was very comfortable and easy to be all together in your 
beautiful home. You have a spectacular place and we all feel blessed 
to have experienced being here.

--Another wonderful vacation...It must give you such satisfaction 
that so many lucky people enjoy this place...It's truly a dream 
vacation. The highlight of this year was seeing a big beautiful

Activities and Attractions

Close by is a country market with great deli and wine selection--
you'll love walking to the store. Get a picnic at the deli, where you 
can order big delicious sandwiches.

Leave the car--you can walk through quaint Tahoma to the pizzeria, 
coffee bar, post office, video shop, kayak rentals, and two nice 
restaurants. 

Snow ski at Homewood Mountain Resort 1 mile away.  Cross country ski 
at the Olympic trail through nearby Sugar Pine Park.

Walk to Sugar Pine Point State Park with it tennis courts, sandy 
beach, and grand old mansion. Take a short drive to Emerald Bay State 
Park, Bliss Beach, national forest, and Meeks Bay and Blackwood 
Canyon entrances to the Desolation Wilderness. 

Bike ride on the meandering paved bike path which makes its way from 
Sugar Pine Point to Tahoe City, and on down the Truckee River all the 
way to Squaw Valley. Kids can ride bikes on our quiet lane well away 
from the main road. Rent kayaks and launch them from the boat ramp. 

Bask in the panoramic views of Lake Tahoe. Swim and sun at our own 
beach.  Water ski on one of Tahoe's most tranquil bays! Swim in the 
lake and warm up in the hot tub. Enjoy a massage after your soak. In 
the evening, roast marshmallows at the great stone fireplace and sing 
songs around the fire. A perfect Tahoe day!

House and cabins with apartment suite: $1,400 night, $9,500 week.
More than 12 people:  $50 nt. per ex.person 
Weeks run Friday to Friday.

House and cabins: $1,200 night,$8,000 week, available shoulder seasons

House and apartment:  $700 night, $4,500 week, 3 night minimum.
