vacation rental description

Enjoy these wonderful breath taking views from our 17th floor suite. You will not be disappointed
by the clear blue turquoise ocean and the gorgeous sunsets. We are located in the landmark Ilikai
Hotel  on the world famous Waikiki Beach of Oahu. This is the very same hotel you see in the opening scences of the old famous TV show, Hawaii 5-0. The Ilikai Hotel is conveniently located between the world renowned Hilton Hawaiian Village Hotel and the Ala Moana Beach park. It is also a close walking distance to the Ala Moana Open Air Shopping Center and the magnificent Hawaiian Convention Center. The 5 star Hilton Hawaiian Village next door has the same beach and oceanfront but they charge $400 - $800 a night and some of those rooms don't even have an ocean view or a kitchen. Our 4 star Ilikai Hotel is less than half the price of the Hilton Hawaiian Village and we can guarantee you beautiful oceanfront and sunset views. Also, our suite has a kitchen that can save you hundreds of dollars in restaurant costs if you decide you do not want to go out to eat every morning, afternoon or evening.

If you decide to step away from the Ilikai there are plenty of restaurants to enjoy with friends
and family. There are also many restaurants that you may visit on the mainland including Red Lobster, Outback, and the Chart House. These franchises along with local restaurants offer you every type of dining opportunity from every part of the world to tantalize your taste buds. The Ilikai even has their own award winning restaurant on the 25th floor that can offer you breath taking views of the mountains and ocean while serving you gourmet cuisine.

If you are done sampling the local fare and you want to go shopping, the famous Ala Moana Shopping Mall is a few blocks away from the Ilikai. You can walk there or you can take the shuttle that stops in front of the hotel. If you want to do some shopping with an exotic flair, you can always go to the International Shopping Center in Waikiki and find unique gifts from all over the Pacific Rim.

If you are done shopping and dining you can always just go to the Ilikai's pool, the beach or
lagoon and soak up the warm Hawaiian sun and enjoy the cool tropical breezes. If you want to expend more energy you can easily rent surfboards, snorkel equipment, boogie boards, kayaks and paddle boats right on the beach. If you are motivated to take to the high seas, you can also take a catamaran sailing trip around Waikiki Beach and Diamond Head. Save your energy for the sunset dinner cruise.  There is so much to do in Waikiki. Visit the concierge's desk in the lobby of the Ilikai to take advantage of so many other things to do in Waikiki and on the island of Oahua.

This was our 7th visit to Oahu and the first time we stayed at a condo. It was one of the best decisions we made, particularly working with Rob and Virginia, the owners. They were wonderfully accommodating, pleasant to work with, and have a wonderful unit. The location of this unit is perfect, directly on the ocean (Hilton lagoon out front) with a great view of the ocean and the marina from the lanai. It is close to both the activities along Waikiki beach as well as the shopping areas for getting food and supplies. We were there for 2 weeks and never even needed a car. Everything we needed was within walking distance. The unit has AC, Cable TV, privacy,a well-appointed kitchen, large shower, internet access, and it is in great condition as well. The cost was very reasonable (we did a lot of looking). Hawaii is certainly a great place to relax and enjoy yourself and it is made more so when your accommodations are both excellent and worry-free. This was a good decision for us. It will be for you as well.

Great location - Great view

We spent a wonderful 2 weeks over Christmas and were very happy with the condo. The view from the lanai is great and it is just a short walk to the lagoon and beach which is really convienent. The condo is a little small for 4 people as it is really a bachelor apartment. The kitchen was perfect and the bathroom large. It was just like the pictures on the website. We would recommend this unit and would definitely stay here again.

Terrific experience

Rick (Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada)
Review submitted: December 29, 2011   Date of arrival: December 1, 2011

Just a couple problems we encountered; the bed was too comfortable!! We didn't usually feel like we wanted to get out of it! It was the second most comfortable bed I ever slept in! (The MOST comfortable was at the Intercontinental in Montreal, where I could not even sleep the first night because of the comfort). Yours was a bit high though; as my wife is only 5' 2", we almost needed a small stepladder to get her situated.(The Jeep in Maui was a little more of a challenge, but she managed that OK too).

Actually, Everything was terrific! Your pictures & description did not do justice to the amazing view, the excellent location, the rich history of the property & the ammenities of the unit itself. I found it particularly interesting that one (of the very, very few) minor critizisms of the property on one of the several travel sites I use was slow elevators. We, however, Never waited more than a minute (usually less) for a lift and totally disagree with that issue! The dining options within a few minutes walk were terrific! Hawaain Prince buffet, Red Lobster, IHOP and the other place handy them, even Snappers right across the street, were All a pleasure to visit! The car rental facility right across the street was extremely convenient as well, as we rented a car for 3 days to see the Island too.

As much as we don't really mind the Timeshare hustlers, emergency sirens, deafening motorcycles, etc., of Ala Moana boulevard, we found your unit a peaceful sanctuary away from all that & as a result, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in every regard!!!!

Robert, not only will we be sure to try and stay at your place again, we will highly recommend it to other people we know who travel and want Superior accommodations wherever they go!

Mahalo for Everything!!
