Things to see? You are 5 miles from historic St. Augustine. The
oldest city in North America has many wonderful old sites with
guided tours, historic homes and shops, cobbled stone streets,
museums, and a historic lighthouse and fort overlooking the bay. It
has delightful shops of all sorts and restaurants to suit all tastes.
Nature lovers: the natural dunes have lots of sea shells: conchs,
coguinas, sand dollars, prehistoric sharks teeth, scallops, etc; and
lots of sea life: dolphins, occasionally whales (wintertime),
manatees and sea turtles (summertime), and shore birds year round:
pelicans, gulls, anhingas, osprey and eagles. You will be 5 minutes
from Guana River State Park ( a bird sanctuary) with lots of bike
and hiking trails, wildlife, and lake fishing.
Relax with spectacular views over the marsh at sunsets, ocean views
of sunrises. We are the highest house along this stretch so we have
unimpeded views in all directions.
And of course you'll have swimming and beach walking and sandcastle
building in your front yard! No condos and no crowds on this
beautiful quiet stretch of beach!
Dine in or eat out. There are three delicious restaurants less than a
mile from us, one overlooking the ocean and the other two right on
the intercoastal waterway. Just minutes away, St. Augustine offers
many unique and famous restaurants.
Relax or go shopping. You are just minutes away from the delightful
shops and boutiques in both St. Augustine and Ponte Vedra. St.
Augustine also has two large outlet malls and you are 30 minutes
away from one of Jacksonville's largest malls.
