Shore Leave is located in Corolla on a peninsula that jets out
between the Atlantic Ocean and the Sound. The distance between the
ocean water and sound water is approximately a quarter of a mile
wide at Monteray Shores. This gorgeous and unique location allows
quick access to ocean surfing and swimming as easily as Sound side
kite surfing, jet-skiing, kayaking, and other still water sports.
You have access on both sides!
Enjoy the sun and shade decks for relaxation. Biking and walking
distance to the Monetray Shores amenities. Ground Level: carport;
entry; laundry. Mid Level: open den with queen sleep sofa with deck
access (It's like having a fifth bedroom); queen master bedroom with
deck access; king bedroom and bedroom with duo bunk and trundle and
deck access, share full hall bath; hot tub on covered deck. Top
Level: Big bright great room with vaulted ceilings and lots of
windows and access to sun deck. Entertainment center wtih TV/VCR/DVD
and Stereo. Outdoor furniture-table seats 8; indoor
dining with seating for 8 and 3 bar stools at the counter with deck
access; kitchen with hand painted walls and vaulted ceiling; king
bedroom with vaulted ceilings with semi-private bath.Extras: Hot Tub
videos, books, games and charcoal grill. No Smoking, No Pets.

Captains Quarters- Master Bedroom on top level Sliding glass doors
open to private terrace. Private bath as well as second vanity and
sink. The master bedroom has a King bed and armoire with TV.
Attached to the Great Room this bedroom has beautiful views and lots
of light.
Our favorite First Mates room is located on the second floor. It
offers a King bed, private closet, chest of draws and windows on
three sides. Recently renewed decor with fresh and nautical superior
linens and duvet cover. There is a third full bath just outside the
door.
The Princess room has a Queen bed, is on the second floor, and has
private bath. The sliding glass doors open on to the second floor
deck where you can jump into the jacuzzi. This room also has a TV
and VCR. The room has a walk in closet to help store everything you
might bring for your adventure in the Outer Banks.
For the deck hands - the fourth bedroom has an ocean theme that will
keep them surrounded by ocean accents even after they leave the
beach. It offers sliding door access to the second floor deck and
jacuzzi. A high-ceiling bunk includes both Full and Twin beds. For
slumber parties, there is an additional pull-out underneath. Private
closet & wicker dresser will hold everything. A small TV and
DVD for gaming complete the room.
The jacuzzi sits on the second floor covered deck where trees offer
privacy from streets and neighbors. There is an Outdoor shower at
the base of the house under the carport. This makes it easy to
remove salt and sand and drop beach gear and towels in the lower
level laundry on the way upstairs to the family! There is also an
exterior staircase to the second floor deck if you would like to
access the outdoor shower before or after a jacuzzi soak. There is
room for parking 2 cars under the house in the carport as well as an
exceptionally long drive and small parking court for additional
vehicles. Additional interior and exterior showers can be found in
the womens and mens dressing rooms at the clubhouse.

From Shore Leave you can drive, walk or ride a bicycle to the
Monteray Shores Clubhouse and the beach. Clubhouse access is granted
for owners and renters during the duration of your stay. The
Clubhouse offers many amenities including a very, very large pool,
well-maintained tennis courts, basketball, game room, socializing,
dressing rooms, and a newly renovated gym. Run on a state of the art
treadmill while overlooking the family playing in the pool. Ask the
clubhouse staff about weekly family and childrens programs. Monteray
Shores also offers tennis racket, bicycle, and kayak rentals.
The clubhouse rests on the Monteray Shores Soundside Park with
direct ramp and pier access for water sports in the sound. One of
many ocean access points is three short blocks from the clubhouse.
There are multiple free public parking areas along the shore and we
have never had an issue finding a spot. Fabulous Currituck
lifeguards are on duty at specific lifeguard stations throughout the
beach. They will be happy to share the local surf and weather
reports as well as a few ocean safety tips.
