Perfect Family Vacation!

Sheryl (Merrimac, MA, USA)
Review submitted: December 18, 2012   Date of arrival: June 30, 2012

I would highly recommend this house to rent! My family has been renting this house for the past ten years every summer, which says alot! We all look forward to it the minute we leave until the following year we get to go back. This is a perfect house for a family. We have 4 adults and 2 children stay there and it is plenty of room. It is close enough to walk down the street to town, which we do every morning for our coffee at Bread and Roses, but it is far enough away to get away from the hussle and bussle of the busy downtown area. What you see in the pictures is what you get. Classic Maine New Englander for sure. The house is just comfortable from the moment you walk in. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need including a small table for four. The dining room has a beautiful large table that can seat 8 comfortably if you had friends come visit. The living room is comfortable and the full bathroom downstairs has a washer and dryer which is key if you're staying for a week! There is also a 1/2 bath upstairs which is great to take a quick shower after a day at the beach! Hardwood floors throughout keep the warm feel of New England charm. The three bedrooms are all nice sizes and there are plenty of fans for the warm summer days! Our favorite part of the house, however, is the front porch...after a long day at the beach, we all look forward to hanging out and relaxing on the front porch with a snack and a cocktail :) it's a perfect way to end the day! The owners, Bridget and Walter are great! They are like family to us now :) Again, I would highly recommend renting this house, you won't be disappointed!

One week in Maine...

Mestrio (Brussels, Belgium)
Review submitted: August 30, 2012   Date of arrival: August 4, 2012

Pros : nice wooden architecture - close to very busy Ogunquit town and beach - simple but tasteful interior design - comfortable beds - easy to use kitchen - good TV and washig machines - ok for 6 people, certainly not more - we were 4 adults and 2 kids sharing one decent bathroom
Cons : too close to street (noisy) - very close to another rented house which cannot be seen on picture - tiny bath upstairs dates from 19th century... - the main door lock was (like all the others) quite old and we were locked out (however nice gentleman replaced the lock in due time) -
Owner : hysterical - accused us of stealing her rickety beach chairs which we had put back in the basement - it took her 2 days before we could finally use the WIFI - expected us to thoroughly clean the house before leaving (although no equipment available)-
Itis sad to have to deal with such a person, especially when you come all the way from Europe...

Great long weekend

LauraMichael (Nashua, NH)
Review submitted: June 9, 2010   Date of arrival: May 28, 2010

We had a great stay for the Memorial Day weekend. The house was clean and well provided with kitchen supplies, towels, and linens. The pillow-top mattresses were very comfortable and the sheets felt high quality. The location of the house is also great: just a short walk to the center of town and to the beach. We would definitely recommend staying here. The only thing that could use updating in the house were the bathrooms. They were functional but not quite as nice as the rest of the house.
