Perfect!

Review submitted: July 13, 2013   Date of arrival: July 6, 2013

We just got home and I am already missing this wonderful house! It is quaint, clean, quiet. Bridget and Walter are great people. We always knew they were right next door, but they did not intrude one bit on our privacy. A previous review mentioned that it is just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of downtown. So true. I especially loved this, Easily within walking distance, but nice and quiet on the very comfortable front porch chairs.
Bridget and Walter, I wish you well. I especially enjoyed our "botanical conversation" on the first day. I'm not a great traveller, and you both put me totally at ease.
My sister in law came for part of the week, so the most we had was 4 people at a time. She was very comfortable and loved her room. The second bath was extra handy, especially while she was there, as 2 could easily shower at the same time with plenty of hot water and pressure.
All linens (except beach towels) are included, with a washer/dryer. SO convenient!
Thank you for a wonderful week! Weather wasn't great-could have been better, could have been worse. We still had a fantastic time. Highly recommend The Ogunquit Playhouse, if the current show appeals to you. We saw Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein. PHENOMENAL!!! Easily a Broadway scale production.
Thanks again! Hope to stay again!

Recommended for: families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car

Owners response: During peak summer season we suggest purchasing tickets ahead of your stay at The Ogunquit Playhouse. The shows are wonderful and the Playhouse is part of Ogunquit's charm and history.

Wonderful time!

Review submitted: June 27, 2013   Date of arrival: June 15, 2013

My friends and I had a wonderful time in this beautiful house. We took a risk in booking at a location we had never visited before. Turns out the risk was well worth it. The house had all amenities we were looking for, the location was great (a 5-10 min walk to the main street and a 15-20 min walk to the beach and the weather was perfect. The bedding, lighting, etc. were all in great conditions. The owners were great and they did everything they could to accommodate us. We are planning to go back next year.

Owners response: Thank you ladies, the only comment I have is that I walk to the beach every day, and if you don't browse the shops I make it to the beach in about 5 minutes. Mile wise it is one quarter of a mile from the house to the main beach. So fifteen minutes to walk to the beach you must have stopped at Bread n Roses for coffee on your way.
It was a pleasure to have you and we look forward to having you back.
Thank you

Perfect Family Vacation!

Review submitted: December 18, 2012   Date of arrival: June 30, 2012

I would highly recommend this house to rent! My family has been renting this house for the past ten years every summer, which says alot! We all look forward to it the minute we leave until the following year we get to go back. This is a perfect house for a family. We have 4 adults and 2 children stay there and it is plenty of room. It is close enough to walk down the street to town, which we do every morning for our coffee at Bread and Roses, but it is far enough away to get away from the hussle and bussle of the busy downtown area. What you see in the pictures is what you get. Classic Maine New Englander for sure. The house is just comfortable from the moment you walk in. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need including a small table for four. The dining room has a beautiful large table that can seat 8 comfortably if you had friends come visit. The living room is comfortable and the full bathroom downstairs has a washer and dryer which is key if you're staying for a week! There is also a 1/2 bath upstairs which is great to take a quick shower after a day at the beach! Hardwood floors throughout keep the warm feel of New England charm. The three bedrooms are all nice sizes and there are plenty of fans for the warm summer days! Our favorite part of the house, however, is the front porch...after a long day at the beach, we all look forward to hanging out and relaxing on the front porch with a snack and a cocktail :) it's a perfect way to end the day! The owners, Bridget and Walter are great! They are like family to us now :) Again, I would highly recommend renting this house, you won't be disappointed!
