Vacation Rental Description

Cantamar is a one-floor, two-bedroom, cabin-like house ,one acre state 
with 60 feet oceanfront (private beach) in the beautiful seashore 
The house is fully furnished and it's located in a pristine beach in  
an ecological, quiet and peaceful beach zone in Yucatan, where   
people find an extreme experience with nature .All the people who  
have rented the property had an incredible time for their vacation.   
It has a front terrace with wooden posts and a french tile roof   
with an incredible ocean view ideal to hang your hammock and enjoy  
the sea breeze. This house was one of the most requested last winter  
season by people who really want to stay away from crowds and noise 
like in old times when vacations were for relaxing and having  
contact with nature. 
 
     The main bedroom has a small terrace with a great ocean view  
even from your bed. The main bedroom has a queen size bed and the  
second bedroom has two twin size beds.  Both rooms and bathrooms are  
wide and spacious.  
 
     It has a good size kitchen equipped with all the necessary  
appliances: stove, refrigerator, toaster,blender, coffee maker,  
dishes, plates, pots and pans, utensils and silverware. 
         
 
    The livingroom is decorated with parts of boats : paddles,  
rudders,bouys, anchors, nautical instruments, etc.giving to the house an incredible sensation .  
It has a dining table for 4 people , Local TV antenna,SATTELITE TV, rocking chairs,  
CD player,DVD player, beach chairs and hammocks.  
 
   The house is located only 4 miles away from a fishers´s village  
called Telchac. Here you can buy some groceries at the convenience  
store and fruit, meat and vegetables at the market in the main  
plaza.  They also have long distance and internet service as well as  
a small hospital for emergencies or first aid. It´s 10 miles from  
Chicxulub . The house is 20 miles east of Progreso, which is the  
most important port in Yucatán. Here you can find a big and USA like 
supermarket with everything you might need, a bigger hospital, and a  
small shopping center with 4 movie theaters and many handcraft  
stores.  First class resaturants and night clubs are found  
at the “malecón” (The front beach main street of the port).  Cruise  
Liners stop at this port . Two hundred meters away from the house  
buses come back and forth from Telchac to Progreso. 
                                                          
     Renting a car will make your stay much more enjoyable and  
comfortable. 
 
        
     The closest airport is Mérida´s International Airport (an hour  
away).Cancún´s International Airport is 4 hours away by car.

Vacation Rental Amenities

Hammocks, TV,  CD player , DVD player, barbecue, tropical flora  
seashore walks, shell collectors´ paradise, beautiful sunrises and  
sunsets, bike rides, sea bathing or swimming, sun bathing,  
jogging,flamingo watching, dock fishing, (boat fishing arranged at a  
marina either at Telchac, Chicxulub or Progreso). 
 
---The house is cleaned twice a week and this service is included in  
the rental price. Sheets and towels are included and changed once a  
week---.

Activities and Attractions

The house is located at a sea point called Xtampú which is an  
ancient salt commerce port of the mayans.  Only two miles  south of  
this point you can find the archeological site of Xcambó.   This is   
 a new and magnificent touristic site now included in the cruise  
liners passengers´ tour that arrive to Progreso.  Also less than a  
mile south from the house you can watch flamingos living in  their  
natural habitat.  You can also watch them from the corridor of the  
house flying back and forth from their sunrise and sunset sites. The  
beaches of this of this area are countinously watched by ecology  
authorities since turtles often come to seashore to lay eggs. If you  
found any turtles or turtle eggs don´t disturb them, instead you  
could inform authorities in Telchac and be  part of this crusade in  
favor of our turtles. A few meters away from seashore, in front of  
the house, (swimming distance) there is a small reef where you can  
snorkle. There are also "Mangrove Trips" in Telchac.  A local group  
of fishermen in Telchac have carved miles of trails through the  
mangrove forests.  They call this place "Aves y Cenotes de Telchac".  
The fisherman poles a little boat through the water canals and you  
get to see beautiful birds in their natural habitat. A beautiful  
ride! 
 
Chichen Itza and Uxmal are two hours away by land and the colonial  
city of Mérida is 50 minutes away.  Mérida is a metropolitan city  
where you can find any service you need: Car rentals , international  
airpot, five star hotels, banks (international banks), first class  
hospitals, big shopping centers,  everything you expect from a big  
city. Chichen Itza and Uxmal are the two most important arquelogical  
sites of the peninsula.  They also count with first class touristic  
services.

$500 dollars a week  Easter and Holly week $850 USD and Summer (July and August) $1,000USD a week.
