Vacation Rental Description

Spacious upside-down house, easy walk to Madaket beach. Water views 
of Madaket harbor. 

Madaket Village occupies the western point of Nantucket, affording 
spectacular sunset viewpoints. Madaket is quieter than other areas, 
especially in the spring and fall.

This is a casual beach house that likes families, and is set back 
from road by a circular driveway. Its upstairs living room has a 
cathedral ceiling, piano, library, and glimpses of Madaket harbor 
from the kitchen and livingroom. You can often hear the ocean from 
the deck that wraps from the master bedroom around to the living 
room.  

The Madaket road bike path runs right by the house, so you can cycle 
out in the morning to town (6 miles) or to beach with 
ease. The shuttle to town stops right next door as well, which is 
sometimes preferable even if you bring your car over, to avoid having 
to find parking in town. 

Blue crabs can be caught (easily by kids) at the bridge to Smith 
Point, an easy walk. Bluefish can be caught right off Madaket beach. 
Stripers can be caught (by patient adults) in the harbor during 
spring. 

The ocean beach (surf's up!) and calm harbor beach - good for 
kayaking or swimming for the littler ones - are both walks from the 
house. A favorite activity is a simple after-dinner stroll, near 
sunset, to the ocean, then to walk looping back along the harbor side 
as darkness and quiet fall.

California-king bed in master bedroom upstairs, 2 bedrooms 
downstairs, one has bunks.

Reservation requires a $300 security deposit and half the rent. The 
other half is due 1 month before the term starts. 

Five hours of changeover cleaning/inspection/inventory are covered.

Weeks start on Fridays to avoid the Saturday rush.
