We have a wonderful family reunion Thanksgiving week 08. I was very impressed with your lovely home, great for a large group. Every bedroom was a winner and tastefully decorated. I would love to come back every year. We also loved the heated pool. Thanks again for a super vacation.5 stars...

Great choice!

I just stayed at the house with a bunch of friends (a total of 5 couples and 2 toddlers) for a few days and had a great time! It is a quick walk to the gorgeous beach and just a couple of blocks to Rosemary Beach's town center where there are about 4 or 5 restaurants, a few specialty shops, and salon/spa. If you are looking for nightlife and excitement, this might not the location for you, but if you are looking for a relaxing, car-free beach vacation this is the place. The house does sleep 18, but probably works best for about 8 - 10 in terms of privacy. The kitchen and bathrooms are beautiful, with large showers and tubs, grantie countertops, and stainless steel appliances, and the house is decorated very, very nicely. The pool is one of the largest we saw at any of the houses on the street, but since you walk straight out the back door into the pool area, it might not be the best choice for families with mobile small children - I saw other houses on the street with separate patios with gates so that pool access could be restricted while you were outside. It wasn't a problem for our group. We loved the huge deck across the back of the house on the second floor and spent our evenings out there. I can't comment too much on the technology (tvs, stereo) as we never really used them - c'mon - we were at the beach for a reason! We did use our laptop for quick periods and had no problems with the wi-fi access.
I really liked the security of the community and felt completely at ease walking after dark. It was also very peaceful and quiet.

Recommended for: age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway

Lanikai is a great choice for a few families.

Upon our arrival at Lanikai, we were pleasantly surprised with the amenities. The house is much more spacious in person than in the pictures. The house was clean and went over the top with a goodie back left for us. Every time we had a question or concern, the property owner was quick with a reply. Our only cons for the house would be the lack of technology (older TV's, slow internet connection, some of the DVD players didn't work, and the stereo system didn't work--this is the one that upset a bunch of music lovers the most!). I don't want to take anything at all away from this beautiful house, just suggestions to the owners for the future. Our family plans to try and make it back there next year and I would definitely recommend this property to others. With being so close to Rosemary Beach, they had many family activities planned throughout the week (Gigi's Kids night, movie night, arts and crafts fair) that we could participate in. The Wild Olive restaurant was great and we loved the Sugar Shak. Most nights we did have to drive somewhere else on 30A or to Desin or Panama City if we wanted to go out to dinner as there isn't much withing walking distance of the house.

Recommended for: age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sight seeing
