2 bedroom intimate oceanview beach house for 1-2 couples one house from
beach with fabulous ocean breeze. Master bedroom - cedar paneled, sliding glass door facing ocean furnished with 50's collectibles, satellite/flat screen TV/DVD, queen bed, ipod dock, internet. Second bedroom wood with cathedral ceiling, 7 windows, double bed, built-in reading area. Sunny outdoor decks, one facing ocean, one facing a fragrant rose garden with furniture and gas grill. Magnificent roof deck with ocean and bay views and amazing chaises. The LR faces the ocean; has flat-screen TV, comfortable sofa and chairs. Kitchen has stainless steel appliances with bar-stool counter as well as separate dining area. Quiet, charming, owner-occupied community with 40 homes, surrounded on either side by undeveloped federal property making it one of the most tranquil and natural places on FI. Van service or LIRR 90 minutes from NYC plus ferry ride from Bayshore, LI to Ocean Beach. No cars are allowed on the island, access by ferry only.

Unfortunately, children are not allowed as the house has not been
child-proofed.

Non-barking dogs are permitted. Property fenced to exclude deer.

washer/dryer, BBQ grill, CD/audio system and CDs, telephone with
answering machine, ceiling fans in every room, satellite/flat screen TV/DVD, ipod dock, internet/wifi, coffeemaker, microwave, cooking utensils, deck furniture and umbrellas, beach chairs, towels and linens.

From $2,200 for Monday through Friday in season to $3200 for a seven day

Clean, comfortable and close to the beach

I stayed in this wonderful beach cottage this summer and found it to be everything promised in the property description. The cottage is breezy and cool, even during the recent heat wave. It's only a few steps away from the beach, and the views from the roof deck are amazing. The cottage is charmingly furnished and has all the amenities of home. Thanks to the owner for sharing this very special home with my family!

Recommended for: age 55+, pet-friendly, romantic getaway

Cozy and Romantic Robbins Rest Beach Cottage

Aside from the beauty of Fire Island and the comfort of Robbins Rest, we enjoyed our time here even more because of the comfortable, intimate, and at-home atmosphere of this lovely cottage. Everything was terrific — from the garden to sunsets on the roof deck (don't miss those!). We'll be back.

Cottage on Fire Island

This charming cottage -- just a few feet from the ocean and nestled in a bird sanctuary -- is the perfect spot for a quiet vacation. We are a senior couple with a 14-year-old poodle, and we were looking for a peaceful place to sit by the ocean and read. The cottage has two bedrooms, a well-equipped kitchen, both an indoor and an outdoor shower (we preferred the latter), a washer and dryer, and two flat-screen TVs (we avoided these). Ceiling fans supply a constant breeze inside. The cottage is a fifteen-minute walk from Ocean Beach, partly on a sandy road that some might find a little difficult to walk on. The walk, however, keeps the cottage tucked away from the usual tourist routes, while it is still reasonably close to a market and a nice selection of restaurants. This is a great place for people in search of a quiet, restful time, close to nature and to the sea.
