Located in one on Manhattans most desirable neighborhoods 38 East 70
is one of the finest examples in New York of a brownstone. The home
was was built in 1884 and designed by Charles Graham and features a
high stoop, large bay windows with full entrapments and cornice slab
lentils. It is the only house of the original row to retain it's
original appearance.
The home is located between Park and Madison Avenues just 1 1/2 blocks
from Central Park and the Frick Museum. The street is quiet and treed
and has easy access to shopping on Madison and Lexington Avenue.

The interior of the home retains all the grace and beauty of the 19th
century with moldings, fireplaces, chandeliers and even speaking
tubes. In 2007 the owners completely renovated the property from top
to bottom and installed air conditioning, internet, cable, telephone,
new bathrooms and many improvements. Much care was taken to retain the
original appearance of the home yet provide for modern amenities.
The entrance to the home is either through the garden level gate four
steps down from street level or through the front door to the first

restaurants close by
- A walk across the park to the Metropolitan Museum of Art or the
Guggenheim
- If you like jogging the reservoir in Central Park makes a great
place to circle from the house.
- Catching the subway at 68th and Lexington (3 blocks) and going down
to SoHo for shopping.
