After a short ferry ride from Portland, you arrive at Diamond Cove,
the most protected cove in Casco Bay. You step off the boat into our
marina, and into vacationland. Water views from all over the
island! The community of Diamond Cove was once Fort McKinley. It
was built between 1891 and 1907 to protect Portland Harbor during
the Spanish-American war. All homes in this area are the original
Queen Anne style buildings built during that time, and have been
completely renovated. See the privately owned Schoolhouse and
Bakery, go duckpin bowling in the restored bowling alley, play
basketball in the gymnasium. A paradise for history buffs, and
heaven for those who love nature and the tranquility of a coastal
Maine island. Other than the van that picks you up at the ferry, or
an occasional workman's vehicle, Diamond Cove is a no-car island,
making it a wonderful place for families. Most homes surround the
parade ground, a huge grassy area perfect for playing. Diamond Cove
has something for everyone. So sit back on your porch, relax and
sniff the ocean air and take in the views!

A short ferry ride to Portland, Maine's premier city, with
outstanding restaurants, shopping, museums, galleries, whalewatching
cruises, lobster boat trips, narrow gauge railway, children's
museum, amusement parks and waterslides. A twenty-minute drive to
Freeport, home of L.L.Bean and outlet shopping.

Summer: $2000 per week. One week minimum.
Off-season: $1800 per week, or $325 per night. Two-night minimum.
