It is on the intersection of the Rubicon - one of the widest in Cape Coral - and Saturn waterways. The 4,239 sq ft house is spacious, light and airy with superb views over the water from the living areas and the patio/pool area. The rooms have high ceilings and 8-ft doors and the sliding glass doors of the back half of the house disappear when opened right up, giving the feeling that the patio, pool and open water are just an extension of the living room. There is efficient air conditioning with two separate systems, one for each side of the house and all rooms have ceiling fans. The patio is a 2,000 sq ft deck area inside a covered lanai. It has a custom, curved pool which has a 5-ton pool heater with an indoor Aqualink control panel for pump, heater and lights. The pool is augmented with a Jacussi-type spa, which overflows into the pool and there is an air-condtioned full bathroom with shower adjacent to the pool. A range of comfortable, quality patio furniture including table, chairs and loungers is provided and the gas BBQ is also found on the deck area. Entertainment systems in the house include three TVs each with an integrated DVD player. Time-Warner cable TV is pipe in and the subscription includes BBC-USA. There is also a stereo audio system (radio and CD) in the formal living room. The DECT wireless phones offer free local phone calls and they operate well throughout the house, patio and dock areas. The boat is a 21ft Hurricane deck boat with a Yamaha 150HP 4-stroke outboard motor. The 4-stroke engine is quiet and it does not emit the nasty smelling smoke that 2-stroke owners suffer when operating at low speed. It is sufficiently powerful to easily exceed 30mph on the open water. The boat sits on an electrically-operated lift on the dock just outside the house. It is fully equipped to Coastguard specifications and provides perfect days out on the water whether you like to fish, cruise, go shelling or just want to go sight- seeing around Sanibel, Captiva and Pine Island. The route to the main river is via the Rubicon and Plato canals, a trip that takes just 20 minutes. The 3-car garage has 10 ft electrically-operated doors (remote control supplied) which means there's plenty of room for your car(s) in addition to the pool toys, bicycles and fishing rods that you will find there. The kitchen is completely equipped with crockery, cutlery and glassware. Everything you need for a wonderful, relaxing vacation is right here. In fact, in the unlikely event that you find you need something else, a local phone call is all it will take for help to arrive. Activities and AttractionsThe house has a superb location within walking distance of downtown Cape Coral's main shopping area and restaurants. Fort Myers, with even more extensive shopping and restaurant facilities, is easily accessible in minutes via the Cape Coral bridge. Cape Coral beach can be reached in less than 10 minutes and Fort Myers Beach is approximately 20 minutes by car. Sanibel and Captiva islands are about 20-25 minutes by car (or a little longer by boat). It is only 25 minutes from South West Florida Regional Airport in Fort Myers or perhaps 2 hours from Tampa International airport. Miami International is a little more than 2 hours away. Local activities include boating, deep sea fishing, jet-skiing, golf, cycling, tennis, hunting, parasailing, swimming, diving, kayaking, water skiing and windsurfing. There are museums and theme parks all near enough for a day's outing. Vacation Rental Rates$2,800 to £3,325 per week, depending on season. Security deposit required but no additional fees for cleaning or whatever. State and County taxes at 11% total are not included.
