vacation rental description
1871 House is a small, quiet and private townhouse with plenty of old-world ambiance. Apartments at the 1871 House are quite spacious and generally much larger than comparable type properties in New York City. 1871 House offers furnished apartment rentals and can be referred to as a NYC Style Bed and Breakfast or an Urban Country Inn. Alternatively, it can be referred to as an extended stay hotel offering a more elegant option for corporate or temporary lodging.
Located on 62nd Street off Park Avenue, within the Upper East Side Historic District, the house is within close proximity to Midtown. It feels like a secret hideaway from the moment you enter the intimate lobby. The circa 1871 Brownstone offers relatively affordable accommodations in a shopping and museum-convenient area of the Upper East Side.
One-of-a-kind Spacious studios (junior suites) are available as well as full floor suites including one two bedroom/two bathroom suite and two three-bedroom one bathroom suite. Double rooms can accommodate a maximum of 3 persons while full-floor suites can accommodate a maximum of five persons. The maximum group size we can accommodate is 8 persons or two suites. Larger groups are subject to a five night minimum. Most rooms offer 10-12 foot ceilings, wood floors covered with Oriental rugs, beautifully dressed queen beds and cozy sitting areas facing working fireplaces, private bathrooms, an assortment of antiques and or quality reproductions as well as either a kitchen or kitchenette.
The subway is 1 and 2 blocks away. Just 2.5 blocks to Central Park and only two blocks to Bloomingdales. Excellent location.
