Vacation Rental Description

Lighthouse Beach Resort is our home away from home in Bonaire! The 
resort is located, on the Caribbean, in the Punt Vierkant section of 
the island, minutes from the downtown area and all types of 
activities. It is right in the middle of the quiet, southern part of 
the island where 50% of the shore diving sites are located. It is an 
easy drive to Dive and Snorkle sites as well as less tha 5-7 minutes 
to Lac Bay for world class windsurfing. The size of the island even 
allows you to get to the northern locations and the Slagbaii 
National Park in less than 30 minutes. Downtown is a quick, 5 minute 
drive which allows you to come and go as often as you like. This is 
the quiet side of the island with no traffic and congestion yet easy 
access to anywhere. It's great for early morning walks and the 
poolside location of the unit makes for a nice to place to wake up 
and get your day started. Our units are 2 bedroom, 2.5 bath units on 
2 floors. The bedrooms are upstairs and each have their own full 
bath and large closet. They are fully air-conditioned and have 
balconies looking towards the ocean or towards the interior of the 
island. The lower level has a fully equipped kitchen with stove, 
refrigerator, microwave and all other small appliances as well as 
plates, glasses and utensils for you to use during your stay. There 
is an eat-at bar as well as a dining area next to the living room. 
The living room leads through a double sliding glass door directly 
to the pool deck which has lots of lounge chairs and tables for your 
use. Lighthouse Beach Resort is a totally owner-based resort with no 
timeshares or corporate owned units so, it is never overly 
congested. We go there 2-3 times a year and have lots of info about 
the island and we love to talk to people about their vacation time 
so, contact us!

Vacation Rental Amenities

Only some of the owners make their units available for rental to 
others and this keeps the crowds to a minimum. The resort consists 
of 3 buildings with ours a U-shaped building consisting of less than 
20 units surrounding the pool. The Resorts beach is about a 1 minute 
walk across the parking lot from the unit and faces west for some of 
the most incredible sunsets you can imagine. We highly recommend 
those!! Again, our unit is a 2 bedroom, 2.5 bath 2 story townhome 
which is fully equipped. This makes it very easy to visit the 
grocery store at the beginning of your stay and get supplies for 
breakfast, lunch and snacks to prepare right at the unit in order to 
saves on dining costs. All linens and towels are included in the 
unit rental fee. We have an area in the front courtyard of the unit to rinse and hang 
your dive gear after a day of incredible shore diving. Also for your 
relaxation, we do have cable TV in the unit.

Activities and Attractions

The island provides an incredible amount of activities to keep you 
busy or you can just relax and decompress. Of course, Bonaire is 
known as one of the worlds premier dive locations and rightly so. 
The entire island is surrounded by a protected Marine Park and the 
reef accessible from shore is second to none. There are many areas 
that are easily accessible to snorklers as well so it is not only 
for the enjoyment of divers. The biggest advantage of Bonaire is 
that it is known as a shore diving location. This is great in that 
you are not tied to the schedule of dive boats but rather, can dive 
at your pace and leisure. Your can wake up later, take a dive, go 
back to the unit for lunch and relax and take another dive or 2 in 
the afternoon. Or, night dive any night, if you wish. Lac Bay is 
located less than 10 minutes from the resort, on the westside of the 
island. It is a huge, reef protected, bay that has constant trade 
winds but little surf and is generally less than chest deep. This 
makes it a great location to learn or practice your windsurfing. It 
has a top-notch windsufing company that provides rentals. There is 
also a nice beach and the Hangout Bar which is very family friendly 
and serves great food in an open-air facility. (we eat there all the 
time) Even though Bonaire is not a duty-free island, there are many 
nice shop in the downtown area and the prices and exchange rate make 
purchases very affordable. Downtown also boasts a huge variety of 
restaurants which are also very affordable. The downtown area is 
very safe and comfortable and lends itself to just wandering around. 
A nice day trip is the Slagbaii National Park on the northern side 
of the island. It is recommended to allow a full day for this trip 
as it is a large park and requires good shoes or boots for hiking. A 
few of the other activities to fill you vacation are a trip to the 
Donkey Sanctuary or an afternoon of kayaking through the mangroves 
to view the salt water nurserries of many of the island tropical 
fish. Either way, there are lots of things to keep you occupied 
during your stay.

Vacation Rental Rates

Our rates are $900-$1200 a week depending on Season and occupancy. 
These rates do not include the Government Holiday Tax of $5.50 per 
person per day for guests over 13. We also have a great "4 Can Stay, 
Dive and Drive" package for $499 per person per week with an 
occupancy of 4 or more. This allows us to help you with vehicle 
rental and shore divings packages with some of the friends we have 
made on the island.
