"So glad we happened to find this place while surfing the web. We had a wonderful stay, everything was perfect."
Thinking of visiting Yosemite soon? Unusual mid-October rain (7"!) created an amazingly uncommon occurrence, come and see the fantastic FALL COLORS along with WATER in the FALLS!
Secretly set near Yosemite, this spectacular 1200 sq ft custom-built, tri-level, 3 bedroom, 1 1/2 bath home is hidden away on eight secluded acres and has extensive decking and spa overlooking the boulder filled, seasonal creek and surrounding hills.
SierraScape's central location is ideal for enjoying all of Yosemite National Park however many of our guests say that once they've been to Yosemite, they simply want to stay put, basking in the beauty and seclusion here without ever having to leave the property. Yosemite is so close, and yet so far.
"My Husband and I had a wonderful time exploring Yosemite and then relaxing together here at the cabin. We loved the privacy, quiet, and all of nature's sounds at night. A wonderful place for honeymooners. Thank You!"
Unique and inspiring architecture add much to the ambience of this custom, casually elegant home that comfortably accommodates from two, to six guests. SierraScape is comfortably furnished, has a fully-equipped kitchen with modern appliances, granite countertops, purified drinking water and a view...
Large, beautiful bedrooms, all with quality King or Queen beds offer quality sleep and the stunning, stone wood-burning fireplace (ample firewood included) is just awesome on those cold, winter nights.
The unique, full bathroom has an open, 6' square walk-in tile shower with multiple windows and distant views. It also has as an oversize soaking tub, a real treat. Conveniently, this main bathroom is accessible from common living space as is the half-bath upstairs so no traipsing through someone else's bedroom on your way to the loo ;-).
The extensive patio and deck area is absolutely gorgeous. It is ultra private and surrounded by boulders and lush, year-round greenery, the lower section has the hot tub and overlooks the incredible mountain creekbed.
"Regardless of how stressed one may be, if they cannot get their mind in a better place sitting out on your deck and listening to nature, they need professional help."
"A very peaceful place, loved listening to the creek! A wonderful place for our small families' vacation, thanks so much!"
*** THE BEDROOMS... ***
The master bedroom has a Queen bed, vanity/sink, loveseat and a side door that opens onto its own private deck leading down to the hot tub.
The second Room With a View has a King bed and French doors leading out onto its own private balcony, overlooking the creek.
Also upstairs is the third and coziest "Lodge" room which has a Queen-size bed and several delightful, distant views. All three bedrooms have ceiling fans, their own sitting/reading areas and writing desks, adding to the comfort and privacy of each individual room.
SierraScape is absolutely ideal for couples, small families and friends traveling together so come and enjoy a cup of coffee or a glass of local wine outside on the deck and enjoy the STARS or the sunrise over the hills from the comfort of the full-size, open-air hot tub. Take a short hike around the property or simply relax in front of the fire, the possibilities are endless here in this exceptionally clean, easy to find, well-appointed and peaceful retreat.
*** LOCATION ***
4 hours from Los Angeles
2.5 hours from the Greater SF Bay Area/San Francisco, Oakland,
Sacramento and San Jose International Airports.
1 hour from Fresno International Airport
30 minutes from Yosemite National Park
While SierraScape is ideally located for enjoying all that Yosemite and its surrounding areas have to offer, it is also perfect for folks keen on being able to just sit back, relax and enjoy themselves in their own private paradise (and never encounter the tourists!).
SierraScape sits well off Hwy 49 just nine easy miles south of the historic Gold Rush town of Mariposa and is ideally located between two different entrances to Yosemite National Park, both well under an hour away. These two entrance routes (Highway 41 and Highway 140) offer a myriad of terrific activities and attractions along the way to the park.
Hwy 140, the scenic all weather highway, meanders through the Wild and Scenic Merced River Canyon and takes you directly into Yosemite Valley. The Merced River Recreation Area at Briceburg is just 14 miles away and has small, sandy beaches just perfect for picnics, wading, and summertime swimming. The river is also great for fishing, hiking, camping, wild life viewing, and for the even more adventurous, white-water rafting and kayaking. There are several commercial rafters who provide trips down portions of the river.
Traveling in the other direction up Hwy. 41 outside of Oakhurst you'll find things to see and do such as the world famous Mariposa Grove's Giant Sequoias, Goat Meadow Winter Sports Area where you can cross-country ski or let the kids play and sled in the snow, beautiful Bass Lake with it's water sports, beaches and restaurants and the historic Sugar Pine Railroad adventure, just to name a few.
You can be far away from it all here in your secluded home away from home, and yet easily be hiking in Yosemite Park or through the Giant Sequoias, skiing Badger Pass, boating on beautiful Bass Lake or sledding in the snow at Goat Meadow Winter Sports Area in under an hour's time.
You can enjoy downtown Mariposa's historic charm, its art galleries, antique and gift shops as well as the California State Mining Exhibit and the Mariposa Gold Country Museum. You can visit its history center and California's oldest operating courthouse, or Tour local wineries and taste some of the area's award-winning mountain wines.
"Your house and hospitality provided for one of our best vacations ever. I rave about your house to everyone who asks. Once again, thanks for an extremely enjoyable week at SierraScape."
Cheers!
